A Splendid Life In Beijing depicts the life of four brothers from their young years in the 1970s, when they grow up as ordinary people in Beijing’s alleys, till their fourties. The second oldest brother’s dream is to have his own successful business. He starts out by buying and reselling mung bean sprouts, then opens his own mutton stall and later enters the fashion market. Even though his businesses continuously fail, he doesn’t give up. But he doesn’t only show persistence towards his work, he’s also persistent in pursuing his love. The second youngest brother throws himself into the stock market right after graduating from university. At the same time, he becomes entangled in a love triangle. Finally, the youngest brother has asthma and stammers. In order to not be a burden to his family, he trains hard and diligently practices tongue twisters and comic dialogues. He later becomes a postman and finds his true love through his job.

Neko Zamurai Season 2 (Spring 2015) stars Kitamura Kazuki, reprising his role as Madarame Kyutaro, the former swordplay mentor turned ronin, with his feline companion, Tamanojo. Kyutaro, along with the cat, has returned to Edo after visiting his family back in his homeland. He intends to once again try finding a job as a Samurai in the city. However, trouble awaits him at his tenement housing. His old landlord has assigned his daughter Kikuno (Mori Kanna) as the new landlady. Kikuno reiterates her father's rule of "no cats allowed." She has an acute nose and suspects Madarame of hiding a cat from her. Further exacerbating his dilemma, Kyutaro discovers that there have been numerous cats living in his room since he's been away! Nekomiya's proprietress Oshichi (Takahashi Kaori) tells him to keep the cats since they will bring him luck... Meanwhile, Kyutaro has to find a job so he goes to an employment agency and meets with owner Tenbiki Shiro (Moto Fuyuki) who tries to find him a job. There are also additional people in town: a new arrogant constable Kameyama Tsurujiro (Nishina Takashi), and a new neighbor, Sasuke (Sano Yasuomi) who seems to be vying for Tamanojo's affection. In 2013, Ko Osawa (Sho Sakurai) works as sous-chef at a first-class hotel. He cooks French cuisine. His job at the hotel requires him to cook for hundreds of customers, but Ko Osawa prefers to cook for a single customer. One day, he happens to see a pamphlet inquiring about a chef available to work at a diplomat office. Ko ends up taking the job and quits his job at the hotel. 2 years later, Ko now works as the chef at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam. Ko then takes part in a cook-off against the chef at the French Embassy.

This series takes place in 199X on the Earth Ship, the command center of an international defence agency called Sky Force, the guardians of peace on Earth. In the ship, scientists have developed "Birdonic Waves", a newly developed technology which gives the subject superhuman abilities. Experiments called "J-Project" were successful. Aya Odagiri, the director of the project, chooses five elite Sky Force officials from Earth to use this technology. Ryū Tendō, one of the Sky Force officers, is successfully exposed to the Birdonic Waves, making him the first Jetman, the Red Hawk.

However, the Earth Ship is suddenly attacked by Vyram, an evil outer-dimensional organization bent on inter-dimensional domination. They successfully destroy the ship, apparently killing Ryū's lover and fellow candidate member Rie. In the chaos, the remaining Birdonic Waves for the other four officials become scattered on Earth, hitting four civilians. Odagiri and Tendō successfully escape and begin searching on Earth for the four remaining Jetman, training them to aid them in stopping Vyram's plans of conquering their dimension.
