This lakorn takes place in the historical Rattanakosin Kingdom, towards the latter half of the era during the reign of Rama V (Chulalongkorn). In the midst of this era, slavery is in the process of being abolished and our hero’s story, Glaa, begins in this moment in time. Young Glaa is the son of a soldier, however after his father lost his life in a battle, his mother was forced into slavery. Their master wanted her to be his concubine, but she refuses and plots for her son to escape this predicament. Glaa successfully escapes and finds his body floating to Khun Luang Phra Pisoot’s humble abode. From there his life changes, and he has not seen his mother since. But Glaa vows to save his mother one day, become a person who is respected and honored as she had instilled in him. Khun Luang Phra Pisoot takes pity on Young Glaa and raises him as one of the servants in his household. Glaa grows up with Khun Ploy (his boss’ only daughter) and the two are kindred spirits. Their bond is stronger than a friendship as the years go on, Glaa will and would do anything for Khun Ploy. The story revolves around Glaa fighting his way to gain respect, honor and everything he has lost the moment he was branded a slave. This hero’s road is nothing short of impossible, filled with obstacles. But where there’s a will as brave as Glaa’s, there’s certainly a way.

Magic Chef features Gallen Lo, Francis Ng, and Dicky Cheung as three brothers who inherit their parent's Wonton Noodles Restaurant. An ex-staff member establishes another restaurant just next to theirs to ruin the three brother's business. The trio then strives for their best to bring back the restaurant's past glamour... Hilarious acting by Dicky Cheung is of course crucial to make this drama serious amusing, but award-winning actor Francis Ng also exhibits his talents in comedy as well! Endo Keita works for JALPAK, and was based at the Head Office, in charge of the overseas packages' projects. One day, he was suddenly ordered to transfer to Narita Airport. It was a well-known fact within the company that the non-performers were sent to work the counters at Narita, where the duties of one were just to serve the incoming and outgoing travelers. This made Endo realise that the management probably sees him as useless, unable to contribute to the sales increase for the company. As he had joined the company with the sole desire to create tour packages, Endo became really depressed and started entertaining thoughts of leaving the company. On his first day at work in Narita, Endo is shocked by the persona of his manager, Imaizumi Toshio, who seems like a totally useless guy, smiling foolishly all the time. His staff are mostly women, and one of them, Morio Haruko is downright hostile to him. The only one who seems to show any kindness to him is Baba Hanae. Endo tries his best at his new role, hoping that he will soon be transferred back to his old job at the Head Office.
