In the Great East Japan Earthquake, a young girl named Luca loses her family and is left with a disability that prevents her from speaking properly. She can, however, make her voice heard when she sings. When she remembers that her dead sister’s boyfriend is attending a university in Osaka, she travels there only to end up in an orphanage despite the best intentions of the people who care about her. Over time, Luca becomes Kyrie, a singer who sings on the streets. Her old friend Ikko, whom she meets by chance, offers to be her manager. Will Kyrie succeed as a singer with Ikko’s help?

In a valley, with a dense growth of trees, a baby is killed. The baby's mother Satomi Tachibana (Anne Suzuki) is arrested as the prime suspect. The police also learn that Satomi Tachibana is involved in a romantic relationship with her next door neighbor Shunsuke Ozaki (Shima Onishi). The neighbor's lover Kanako (Yoko Maki) has informed the police of this. Meanwhile, magazine reporter Watanabe (Nao Omori) covers the story. As Watanabe investigates the case, he discovers the shocking fact that Shunsuke Ozaki was involved in a rape case 15 years ago.

"Fish Story" centres around a rock band from 1975 who decide to break up having had no success, they record one last song before the band splits up. Decades later that song will have a profound effect on peoples lives, eventually becoming the saviour of the world.

A female high school student named Sayaka kills herself, but the reason why she killed herself is unknown. Sayaka appeared to have a normal life with her family, including her mother Rumiko. Rumiko seemed to raise Sayaka with love and care. In reality, Rumiko is a mother who is unable to give love to her daughter and Sayaka is a daughter who wants to receive love from her mother.

When mother Rumiko and daughter Sayaka think of the same incidents that took place in the past, they tell different stories.

Aboard the Japanese crab ship 'Kanikosen' equipped with a cannery facility, workers are forced to labor under pitiful conditions at minimum wages. Some even die of cruel labor and malnutrition. And to top it off, the factory superintendent Asakawa (Hidetoshi Nishijima) is the most brutal sort who does not treat the workers as human beings.Shinjo (Ryuhei Matsuda), one of the workers, persuades the others that they should wish to become rich in their next life as there is no future for them in the present. So all of them try to commit suicides, which ends up in a comedy of errors. SHINJO then escapes the Kanikosen and is rescued by a Soviet vessel. He is astonished by the new social system on the vessel that is so much different from the one he left behind. In realization, Shinjo returns to the ship to save the others.

The washed up actor Tie Nan’s (Chen Bo-lin) childhood dream is shattered when the producers of the show in which he plays a space hero replaces him with a fresher face named Face (Owodog Zhuang). Together with his best friend and co-star Monster (Qiu Yanxiang), Tie Nan sets out to find new acting gigs that eventually lead him to rediscover himself, and enlightens him on what being a hero truly means.

Yoon Hee lives with her teenage daughter Sae Bom. On a winter day, Yoon Hee receives a letter from Otaru, Japan. Sae Bom accidentally reads the letter and learns about her mother's first love, which she never spoke about before. Hiding the fact that she knows about Yoon Hee's first love, Sae Bom proposes that they travel to Otaru, Japan together. There, the mother and daughter enjoy their time together. Yoon Hee, believing that she might meet her first love again, feels her heart fluttering.
