In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. The story follows a young man who has been single for a year after his boyfriend suddenly disappeared without a formal breakup. In 1970s Hong Kong, rapacious landlords try to evict 72 tenants but sworn brothers Ha Kung and Shek Kin help the group of 72 defeat the landlord and landlady and coincidentally rescue Pinky from a planned forced marriage. When both sworn brothers fall for Pinky and propose to her, she flips a coin heads or tails, they both cheated during the toss but Ha wins her hand in marriage.

The sworn brothers become sworn enemies and Sheks hatred fuels intense rivalry against Ha in business dealings ranging from the manufacture of plastic flowers to the selling of stinky bean curd. Even after 40 years they continue to clash and in 2010 they are in keen competition selling electronics appliances in Sai Yeung Choi Street, Mongkok, the busiest street in the city and still home to the 72 tenants.

This film used the 1973 Shaw Brothers film, The House of 72 Tenants as the blueprint. However, this story is a new creation, of which only some roles identical. This is the first film to introduce the new 2010 Shaw opening theme with a shortened version of the original fanfare.

A bunch of gangsters want Peng, while the police want Yao and Yan. Meanwhile, Jay and Moon is going fast and furious in a car. They almost hit Peng. All of the characters end up in the same street at the same time. Yet they're all going to be responsible for their own karma.

The strongest punk detective in the police station who investigates with his mouth more than theory, 'Dong-min', is appointed to the investigation department just when he was about to become successful in his career.

He is sad to be appointed, however, he will be having a joint investigation with a straightforward FM detective 'Mong-heo' (Janska), in charge of a case that involves a missing model. As the investigation progresses, 'Dong-min's instincts awaken and realizes that it was not just a case of a missing person.

Choong-dong, a traffic officer who aspires to be a homicide detective, is recognized for his straight and honest nature and recruited into a case targeting gang leader Gwang-seop. Before long, he goes undercover as a member of Gwang-seop’s gang. Meanwhile, Joong-dae goes undercover in homicide to protect his boss Gwang-seop because he is the only member of the gang who graduated from university. His quick wits put Joong-dae on the Chief’s good side and also close to Se-rin in the secret investigations department. He falls in love with her. Joong-dae tries hard to get in on every important case and win the trust of Captain Park and Chief Chun as he seeks the identity of the undercover in Gwang-seop’s gang.
