There is “another Japan,” which is divided into three countries and has been in ethnic conflict for 100 years. In the middle of the conflict, a young girl (Ikuta Erika) was kidnapped and confined by a group calling itself “National Liberation Army.”

Based upon an urban legend of 2 rivalling bak kwa shops, "Hao Han Bak Kwa" and "Mei Mei Bak Kwa". The founders of these two stores however, Zeng Mei Mei (Irene Ang) and Chen Hao (Ha Yu), used to be lovers, yet, turned against each other for their own personal, selfish reasons. While the two engage in a battle to win a bak kwa competition, their children get engulfed in a complex relationship with one another... And there begins the story of the bak kwa war!

Kaede (Kurumi Shimizu) and Yusuke (Kento Yamazaki) have feelings for each other, but they do not express their feeling honestly. Ji-Ho (Hyomin), who is an exchange student from South Korea, gets to know Kaede and Yusuke while attending university. Ji-Ho notices the feelings held by Kaede and Yusuke for each other, so Ji-Ho introduces a Korean style romance and leads Kaede and Yusuke to love.

Dong Gu is not your average Madonna fan. China in the 1920's. After her father's death, nineteen year old Songlian is forced to marry Chen Zuoqian, the lord of a powerful family. The majordomo, Mrs. Cho, is the household's cold stone center. Before long, Hoon seduces Eun Yi, and when Mrs. Cho tells Hae Ra's mother about the affair, Eun Yi is up against women with wealth, power, and no conscience. Can Eun Yi maintain her dignity and perhaps even put the family in their place?
