In the Hayate Way's Ninja Academy, three pupils are not exactly fitting in. But because their sensei believes they have potential he regularly spends the morning personally and rigorously training them. While the other students are having their graduation ceremony a group of evil space ninjas known as the Jakanja infiltrate the school killing most of the students. The school's sensei, Mugensai, turns himself into a hamster to evade his pursuers. The trio is then taken to a secret base to become the legendary Hurricanegers to fight Jakanja.

Raised in a patriarchal environment, Lik, who has very old-fashioned thinking, believes that women cannot become sushi chefs. He believes that a woman should be staying at home, cooking, serving their husbands and caring for the children. Ida on the other hand, is a very strong-willed modern Chinese woman. Through her determination, confidence and persistence, she proves her skills to him. Their frequent conflict and arguments over the rights and roles of women and Lik's eventual realization that women can indeed accomplish greater accomplishments than men show the gradual progression of value changes.

Later on Ken found out that Jane Wanlapa, his boss, Putt, and Pink were all undercover sent to investigate about the microchip as well. Ken agreed to go into training hoping he gets his memories back regarding the microchip. Later on, everyone found out that Susie was the mole that Thongrob had sent over and Putt having feelings for Susie decided to let her go. Thongrob went after Susie and had plan to get rid of her because she knew too much about him but she was saved by Putt. Jane asked Ken, Putt, Pink, and Susie to work together to fight against Thongrob and to find the microchip before him. Their operation failed many times. Pink was set up to become a two-face undercover, causing Ken to believe she was a traitor, which lead to the two getting into a fight. Will Ken get his memeories back? Where is the microchip hidden at? And who is the actual two-face undercover?

As a teacher in the teen comedy, Hirano's character advises the "I Want to Become an Idol Club" at an all-girls finishing school. The five singers of 9nine will play the members of the "I Want to Become an Idol Club." In the story, the girls' senior student scouted them to debut as idols at the school's culture festival. The singers then form the club and devise outlandish lessons to train themselves as performers.
