19-year-old beautiful Shiratori Reiko is a self-professed ultimate princess. Despite her haughty attitude, she is actually a very late bloomer and knows nothing of the real world. Reiko has had feelings for Akimoto Tetsuya (Mizuno Masaru) from childhood, but her enormous pride always gets in the way and she cannot tell him in all honesty that she is in love with him. Tetsuya soon becomes a university student and Reiko follows him to Tokyo. But he is constantly at the mercy of her overly unique sensibilities. Then Tetsuya’s ex-girlfriend, a cute high school girl, the wealthy Yoshimoto Ryunosuke (Tamura Yukihisa) who has fallen in love at first sight with Reiko and Reiko’s rival Kakitsubata Ayame (Onishi Ayaka) appear before the two of them.

35-year-old Morita Haruki is a surgeon who only thinks about saving patients 24 hours a day, every day. A compassionate man with a strong sense of justice, he pushes back against the university hospital system which prioritises profit and power. However, he has forgotten how to love because he has put work before romance and his hectic job. In order to hone his skills as a surgeon, Haruki gets a position at Koyo Medical University Hospital through his senior, Nishi Yusuke, an associate professor at the department of surgery. After parting ways with Nishi at a hotel, Haruki learns that a guest had thrown up blood and collapsed at the reception hall, and he rushes over to the scene. Kondo Chizuru, a surgeon from Koyo Medical University Hospital who had been attending the reception, is already treating the guest. However, word comes that the condition of her patient suddenly deteriorated. Haruki makes an offer to take over and urges her to go back to the hospital. When he visits Koyo Medical University Hospital the next day, he meets Chizuru again and tells her that they will be working together. That morning, Watanabe Mikio, the head of the administrative department, delivers a talk to all staff including anaesthetist Kawai Nana, lecturer Takahashi Sotaro and the physician Ichikawa Tomoko. Watanabe reports that the head of the medical department was made to resign because of adultery. He tells everyone that the hospital has the right to remove elements which have an impact on operations and romantic problems within the hospital will be dealt with severely in the future. Haruki is warned by his senior, One Ryota, not to examine anything beyond what is written in the letter of introduction, and immediately sees an outpatient. However, Haruki only has the patient’s interest in mind, and a patient referred to for surgery ends up going back. Haruki clashes with One. Meanwhile, he learns that Miura, the patient Chizuru is in charge of, has been complaining that he is not feeling well even though he is due to be discharged soon. He suggests an additional examination to Chizuru. However, Chizuru replies that he would be better off going back to the previous hospital if he wants to spend time and be there for individual patients … …

Two colleagues from different backgrounds who work together for a camping goods manufacturer, go on a tour to visit the beautiful scenery that is often overlooked in everyday life which helps to invigorate their moods.

Nogami Taeko who works at a foreign fund, is tasked by her company president, Machida Kenichi with restructuring an ailing company that has just been bought out. It is Japan Geothermal Development, a small company in the countryside which develops and supplies geothermal energy. Taeko unhappily wonders if she has been demoted, but gets on board to turn the business around. She grills the present company president Ando Koji about the company’s finances, and announces a restructuring plan that will lay off employees and close unprofitable divisions. This causes a furor among employees like Omuro Kojiro, the head of geothermal energy research, whose life has been consumed by years of research. Taeko plunges ahead based on the conviction of rebuilding the business and securing its profitability. However, she soon learns of the thoughts of people like Omuro who believe that they are developing energy for Japan’s future, and gets to know the potential of geothermal power generation.

About 150,000 illegal entrants live in Tokyo. They are not recognised as refugees and live in poor conditions. To protect themselves, the illegals create a secret organisation. The organisation has a bank which Japanese Financial Services Agency is not involved with, a hospital that is not authorized by Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare and an illegals police force called "Dias Police." The only police officer in the organisation is Saki Kubozuka (Shota Matsuda). His age and nationality is unknown. Saki Kubozuka does not speak much, but he has a warm heart and strong sense of justice. He takes care of the weak and tries to maintain public order.

The drama tells the story of air force pilots and their families from 1945 to 1971. As the husbands embarked on patriotic missions to fight against the enemies, their families must content with horror of wars, mass emigration to distant land, and death of love ones. Their shared experience brought the military families together to support one another. A Touch of Green won 6 awards at the 2016 Golden Bell Awards, including Best TV Series, Best Directing (Tsao Jui-yuan), and Best Actor (Wu Kang-jen).
