Hiding out in the mountains, he encounters and joins a group of drummers whose mesmerising art, rigorous physical training, and austere way of life eventually transform him into an extraordinary young man. Sid's independence from the triad life is profoundly challenged, however, when a twist of fate awaits him back home in Hong Kong and forces him to choose between loyalty to his family and his new found faith in himself.

The story is set in a fictional Japan where people are discriminated according to their birthplace and residence. Saitama Prefecture is particularly criticized by the people in Tokyo. One day, a mysterious male student named Rei Asami transfers to Hakuhoudou Academy, a prestigious high school in Tokyo, from America. Momomi Hakuhoudou, the male president of the school's student council and the grandson of the director of the school, is gradually attracted by him.

However, Rei's secret origin that he was born in Saitama is accidentally revealed. He returns to Saitama to join resistance movement to eliminate discrimination against Saitama citizens. When Momomi learns that a powerful politician tries to destroy Rei's resistance group, he decides to go to Saitama to inform Rei of the danger.

Two gruesome murders occur. Both murders target police officers and their pregnant wives. In each of the murders the pregnant woman's as of yet unborn baby were removed and left to die next to their mother. The killer Kit (Juno Mak) is shortly later apprehended on a bus while trying to flee the scene of his latest murder. Months earlier, Kit is a young man selling steamed dumplings in front of a small neighborhood grocery store. One day, he spots a young woman Wing (Sora Aoi) walking by with her grandmother. Kit falls for the woman at first sight. Wing is mentally challenged high school girl. As Kit and Wing's relationship begins to develop a brutal and tragic act of mistaken identity sets in motion a horrific cycle of violence and revenge.
