Angelo 天使的幸福 is a 30-episode Chinese romance drama that is a remake of Thank You, a 2007 K-drama starring Jang Hyuk and Gong Hyo Jin. I can tell you now that those are big shoes to fill but this version brings together an interesting pair starring Cecilia Liu Shi Shi and Ming Dao, which for gossip's sake were actually riddled with dating rumors back when they were filming in 2011. I still can't believe it took this long for the show to premiere and the real life details don't even matter by now especially since Cecilia Liu is happily married. Besides, it's the reel story that we care about, technically speaking. The plot revolves around a single mom, her HIV positive daughter and a doctor that walks in to their lives. Xiao Han is the comely single mom whose angelic little girl unknowingly contracts HIV. Angelo is an accomplished doctor who loses his girlfriend to a terminal illness and then goes looking for the the mother-daughter pair to fulfil his girlfriend's dying wish. With such heavy stuff right off the bat, I'm thinking a box of kleenex is in order but maybe, this can still turn out to be more heart-warming and less heart-wrenching. After all, it seems to follow a theme about making the best of the circumstances. The series also stars Jeremy Jones, Jessie Chiang and Candy Tang.

Continuing the first season, Like a Flowing River II follows the story of Song Yun Hui, Lei Dong Bao, and Yang Xun as they take part in China’s economic reform from the 1980s to the 1990s. Song Yun Hui has been promoted as the youngest deputy leader in Donghai Chemical. He brings his family to live with him in Donghai, but his wife Cheng Kai Yan’s laziness and distrust take a toll on their marriage that eventually ends in divorce. With his innate business capabilities, Song Yun Hui continues to take up leadership roles thus bringing his team success as they complete project after project. Wei Chun Hong, on the other hand, is always by his side, supporting and encouraging him. Arriving in Donghai to seek opportunities, Yang Xun finds success in the current markets. While working with Liang Si Zhong, he starts to admire and develop feelings for her all while he continues to create fake accounts that harm the company. Liang Si Zhong’s father discovers this and intervenes, dealing a huge blow to Yang Xun’s career. As Yang Xun falls to the lowest point in his life, he finds comfort in someone close to him.

Bu Dong is a smart and witty monk who has a mysterious connection to the Ming Emperor. He becomes the unconventional teacher of a group of chaotic students, one of whom is the Crown Prince. At first, the students are rude and mischievous, but eventually, Bu Dong gains their trust and slowly changes their attitudes with his good intentions and heart of gold.

Komatsu Kie, a magazine writer from Tokyo, teams up with Omine Sakura, an Okinawa native, to pursue the truth of a sexual assault case.

The drama’s setting is the Tokyo Area Control Center (nicknamed “Tokyo Control”), which serves as the air traffic control center for Tokyo and surrounding regions. Kawahara plays one of the cool-headed controllers at the center.
