In the country of Yanli, General Liu's mansion is home to twin sisters Liu Jing Shu and Liu Jia. At the time, twins were considered an ominous sign, so the younger sister, Liu Jia, was hidden from a young age, raised in secret under the name Er Gou by General Liu. As the two grew up, despite looking identical, their personalities were vastly different. The elder sister was gentle and graceful, while the younger was lively and mischievous, often impersonating her sister and sneaking out of the mansion to cause trouble. When the sisters were fifteen, during the engagement banquet between the General’s Mansion and the Xuanping Marquis' Mansion, Xiao Ren Yan, unwilling to easily accept an arranged marriage, found an excuse to leave before the banquet began. Unexpectedly, he ran into Liu Jia, who was in the kitchen stealing food. The two accidentally fell into the water, and while underwater, they unintentionally kissed.
