The famous Japanese legend of the enforced suicide of Lord Asano and the epic attempt by his loyal forty-seven samurai to avenge their unjustly punished lord is the basis for this year-long drama.

Set in the Ming Dynasty, the local Naxi Mu clan is the administrative and governing authority of Lijiang Prefecture at the foothills of the Himalayas Mountains. Its family members used blood and violence to reach the pinnacle of power. A casualty of this bloodshed was a young girl by the named of Aleqiu who was ingrained from childhood to exact revenge against the Mu clan for the extermination of her own family. As a child, she infiltrated the Mu clan and became a maidservant to the family's matriarch. Her mind is filled with schemes and manipulations, but Aleqiu still possesses her youthful innocence and kindness. She also unfortunately falls in love with her young master and heir to the governorship of Lijiang, Mu Zeng. Just when the two lovebirds feel the hopelessness of their love and decide to be together in death, hope appears on the horizon. Aleqiu succeeds in marrying Mu Zeng, but her problems in the Mu household have only begun...

Eight thousand years ago, the Daos civilization flourished in Southern China. The civilization consisted of three tribes: the Dai, the Shura (the ancestors of today's humanity), and the Gorma (the military tribe); they lived harmoniously. However, one day, the Gorma Tribe decided to take over the empire and the world. Thus began the war between the Gorma and Dai tribes. The battle continued for 5,000 years, led by the Gorma Triumvirate. The Mythical Qi Beasts appeared to oppose the Gorma, whose magical powers had increased, enabling them to turn themselves into monsters. Five Dai warriors' Qi powers had increased to the point where they could control the Mythical Qi Beasts. The war ended with the disappearance of both the Dai and Gorma tribes. In the present day, the Gorma Tribe, one of the Daos' two missing branches, arose to take over the world. To counter them, Master Kaku assembled a team of five youths with high levels of Qi, who became the Dairangers of the present time.
