Mare is an elementary school student. She lives with her family in the city, but, right before her father goes bankrupt, they run away and settle down at a fishing village in Noto. The family rents a couple's home who run a salt pond. Mare's father starts a new business, but it also fails. Her mother supports the family by working at the salt pond. 8 years later, Mare, about to graduate from high school, decides to work for the Wajima local government. She wants to have a steady job, unlike her father. Her job is to support people who move to Noto.

There are those who believe falsely that he has dark supernatural powers, thinking him possessed by ghosts. And Song Chang-ui plays the rival advisor. Lee Yoon-ji joins the cast as Ban-ya, a woman who was sold off as a gisaeng at a young age, but becomes a concubine to King Gongmin’s advisor, and bears a son. King Gongmin takes in that son as his, and the boy becomes King Woo of Goryeo — the king that General Yi dethrones in a coup d’état.

Nakamura Seiko works in the PR department for a cosmetics company. Being influence by her family, she has grown up with the idea that marriage is mandatory and not optional. She now has a strong desire to marry, but her fiancé, who works in the same department, suddenly breaks off their engagement.

Amagai Eiji worked as a designer for an advertising agency, but he was suddenly transferred to the sales department. He doesn’t know what he wants to do anymore. He is a gay man, but he hasn't revealed his sexual orientation to his parents.

The three of them then team-up and start their adventures to unravel the secrets behind what happened in relation to Xi Xiao Hui's past.

Sasaki Sachiko works as a literary magazine editor. She is well respected by her colleagues due to her perfectionist ways. On Sachiko'd wedding day, her boyfriend Shungo disappears. Sachiko is dumbfounded by her boyfriend's disappearance.

The next day, Sachiko goes to work, but she can't stop thinking about Shungo. She realizes she is more traumatized than she thought. Sachiko decides to go to a restaurant. When her meal comes out, she forgets all about Shungo. Her experience makes her become a connoisseur of gourmet meals.
