Another Era is a sister production to TVB’s 1999 epic At the Threshold of an Era <創世紀>, and stars Roger Kwok (郭晉安), Frankie Lam (林文龍), Tavia Yeung (楊怡), Niki Chow (周麗淇), Pakho Chau (周柏豪), Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), and a special appearance by Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣). Another Era is also Tavia’s comeback drama with TVB since ending her management relationship with the company back in April 2016.

Kazama Kimichika is an instructor at a police academy. He is keenly observant and watches over his students. He is calm as an instructor and has charisma, but strict. The story is set in the devastated area of Kamata, Tokyo, in 1945 just after the end of the war. Horikita plays Shimomura Umeko, the youngest of three siblings whose father is a doctor at a university hospital. Compared to her outstanding sister Matsuko and brother Takeo, she lacks self-confidence, but an incident makes her determined to become a local doctor.
