he Legend of Flying Daggers – 飞刀又见飞刀 is based on the Flying Daggers series of novels written by Taiwanese author Gu Long. According to avirtualvoyage.net, this drama is based on the fifth and final installment of the series. Author Gu Long died in 1985. Many of his novels had been adapted into movies. Hawick’s character is the grandson of the original hero in the Flying Daggers novels. He is carrying on the family tradition of defending the poor against the kingdom. Yang Rong’s character works for the royal family as a female assassin but falls in love with Hawick’s character even though they are enemies. Gui Gui’s character is the childhood friend of Hawick’s character and has always had a crush on him. Huang Ming’s character is the brother of Hawick’s character and is in love with Gui Gui’s character.

Igarashi Iori is a talented radiographer who believes the “truth” is definitely captured in CT and MRI images. He and radiologist Amakasu An work at a hospital’s radiology department where they determine the causes of patients’ illnesses and injuries.

Tithit (Toomtam Yuthana Puengklarng) meets Gandaomanee Girinisuan (View Wannarot Sontichai) in Phrajoit and falls in love with her. Unbeknownst to Thit, Gandaomanee is using her elder twin sister's name, Gandaowasee, for herself, therefore tricking him into thinking her real name is Gandaowasee. She later leaves him when she grows tired of him and finds out that he's the poor son of a merchant (his mother makes Thai desserts). Thit is heart-broken and tries searching for her unsuccessfully. The story uses a time-displaced character relationship to help solve a case spanning 25 years. It blends crime suspense with warmth. Through a series of cases triggered by a building fire in the 1990s, it tells the story of Hong Kong police pursuing justice and family bonds while showcasing the changes in Hong Kong’s urban culture and human relationships before and after its return to China.
