The drama is based on the historical background of King Sejo (1455-68) and the six loyal subjects, known as "sayuksin." The story tells the tale of six royal officals of the court who try to help restore Danjong of Joseon to power and fight against the coup led by Sejo of Joseon. It is a story of six loyalists who were killed in an attempt to restore the dethroned King Danjong after the notoriously brutal King Sejo seized power.

Beppu Sumire (Imoto Ayako) is a wedding planner who works for True Love Bridal (TLB), a well-established wedding hall. Her late mother, Sakura (Okunuki Kaoru), showered love on her and would always tell her that she is lovely. After she passed away, Sumire lived with her father, Tetsuro (Kusakari Masao). Sumire gave up on her own romance long ago because of her disappointing looks. But she works hard with a smile even when she gets scolded by her stern superior, Umemiya Hitomi (Tomosaka Rie), her impertinent junior, Sudo Yuri (Shinkawa Yua), pins trouble on her, and her relationship with her father is not working out, in order to bring smiles to many people’s faces. One day, the very good-looking Tachibana Soichiro (Shirota Yu) assumes the position of TLB’s new president. Sumire becomes his mentor. She is rapidly attracted to him because of his boundless kindness. However, Soichiro, who is the son of the owner of TLB Group, appears to have mixed feelings about marriage and love … … Meanwhile, a couple, Suzuki Yusuke (Wada Masato) and Sato Kanna (Sasaki Nozomi), visits TLB. Sumire tries to serve them. However, as soon as Kanna sees Sumire’s face, she starts to talk about wanting to change the person in charge. Even after that, she stubbornly refuses to have contact with Sumire. Sumire agonises about her face being the reason. Then she recalls that Kanna share the same first and names as her best friend in high school. However, the Kanna in the photo which Sumire still carries about with her, has no resemblance to the Kanna now. Could Kanna have had plastic surgery … …?! Sumire, who cannot give up a reunion with her good friend whom she even dreams about, hits out at Kanna. In their youth Joe (Bowie Lam), Angus (Moses Chan), Ronnie (Kenny Wong) and Ka Ming are good friends and band mates. During a mountaineering trip, the four are stranded on a snow bound mountain and out of desperation Ka Ming is killed and eaten by the other three. This event has a traumatic effect on them, their friendship, and their friendship with Yan (Charmaine Sheh), Ka Ming's girl friend, leading the previously close group to go their separate ways. Eighteen years later, Yan remains haunted by the memory of Ka Ming, trying to regain what she had with him in part with her husband and and in part with her lover, but finding neither a complete replacement for her lost love breaks with them both. Troubled she loses track of time while alone in the wilderness, sparking a missing persons alert which becomes the catalyst for the four friends to meet again. Though she was Ka Ming's girlfriend all four band mates were in love with her and the three survivors remain in love with her.

Setsuko Koda (Saki Aibu) is married to Kiichiro who runs a hotel. There is a large age difference between them. Her hobby is to write poems. She published her own poem collection "Garasu no Ashi" upon her husband's suggestion. One afternoon, Setsuko Koda is lying in bed with Masahiro Sawaki. They are having an affair. The police then contacts her and informs her that her husband was in a car accident. Setsuko Koda goes to the hospital. The doctor there informs Setsuko Koda that Kiichiro has severe brain damage and he won't live much longer. At this time, Setsuko Koda’s mother, Ritsuko Fujishima, arrives at the hospital. In the past, her mother was involved in a romantic relationship with Kiichiro. Her mother was also abusive to Setsuko Koda when she was a child. Due to this, Setsuko Koda hates her mother. When she sees her mother at the hospital, Setsuko Koda curses at her.

Teppei’s dream since he was a child was becoming a “marathon runner,” however, with his father’s unemployment and disappearance, his life starts to fall apart, leaving him with a past of being a well-known delinquent in his hometown. Danji was born to a wealthy family, leading a comfortable life, however, with his illness as a trigger, he stops going to school, and he goes down the wrong path. Hiro grew up in a normal household; however, as not to become a burden for her family, she opts for a realistic job of being a police officer, leading her to question herself of whether she truly wants to be one. “S Class” consists of students including former delinquent, a dropout, going in it for the money, no real aspirations, below average grades, bad health, coward, or just simply a misfit. Will they be able to get used to their strict dorm life and be able to graduate!?
