THE HIT follows the process of a mash-up, the creative process that different parts of songs are combined to make a piece of new music. The songs are very popular; you may even recognize them by the intro. Three pairs of musicians are to mash their own hits up to create a totally different version. From 90s classics to the recent hits, which songs will be reassembled and get a new life? Hosted by Song Eun-yi and Kim Sin-young, the show is also a mash-up of the reality show, the talk show, and great musical performances.

Four middle-aged actresses share their experiences and emotional stress of living alone, and through their heartfelt stories, the show searches for a new living arrangement that allows residents to support each other, both emotionally and for practical problems encountered when living alone

In a prologue, the cast is introduced to the settings and suspects of a murder case for the new episode. The cast then chooses their role in the episode, as a particular suspect or the detective. Other than the detective, each person is given detailed information about the suspect they are portraying including their personalities, alibi, relationship to the victim and other suspects, history, criminal motive, etc. Every suspect can conceal information until explicitly questioned by other suspects or the detective, but only the criminal can lie.
