An ancient supernatural being, a fairy fox, travels to the human realm and causes some mischief then develops feelings for a human man and atones for his misdeeds by saving the man and his future wife.

Hyun Joon is a comic book artist from the Jeolla-do region, now working in the capital city of Seoul. One day he meets Da Hong, a fan of his who is from the port city of Pusan. The couple's relationship has progressed where they are now thinking of marriage. The only problem is Da Hong's father has a severe prejudice of people from the Jeolla-do region. When Da Hong's father was younger he was a professional baseball pitcher. He was then beaned in the eye by a pitcher which ended his baseball career. The pitcher was from the Jeolla-do region. Making the couple's possible marriage even more tricky, Hyun Joon's father wants his son to marry a local girl from the Jeolla-do region. The couple then comes up with an idea. Hyun Joon will go to Da Hong's home and tell a "small" white lie about his background - that he is a native of Seoul. Now, Hyun Joon must lose his regional Jeolla-do dialect and also be able to lie to his possible future in-laws.

In the depths of western China's Gobi Desert, Yong operates a dilapidated ostrich farm, which is the last throw of the dice for him as he tries to win back his ex-wife and repair his life. One day, Mr. Wu comes looking for a debt to be repaid. When Yong can't come up with the money, Wu leaves a lonely little boy behind, telling Yong to look after him. Suspecting his ex-wife might be considering another marriage, Yong can only take the boy along as he goes to find her. In three days crossing the Gobi, they meet a sad and depressed female trucker Mei, and the three lonely people become a pseudo-family. More people join the action and the relationship between Yong and the boy is constantly tested and evolving over this journey. In the end, through these series of random encounters, every person embarks on their own path of no return.

In one of his signature roles, Okawa Hashizo stars as Zenigata Heiji, the son of a police officer who disowned young Heiji due to his gambling addiciton. However, he decides to follow in his late father's footsteps after his employer's body is found as part of an apparent double-suicide. Heiji decides to investigate the case because the evidence shows a double murder.

Since Reiko (Mieko Harada) turned 60-years-old, she seems to get more and more forgetful, but her husband Katsuaki (Kyozo Nagatsuka), first son Kousuke (Satoshi Tsumabuki) and second son Shunpei (Sosuke Ikematsu) do not care or notice. One day, Reiko goes to see a doctor and is diagnose with brain tumor. She only has a week to live.

After Reiko tells the her family that "a family that gets scattered makes me scared," she seems to become a totally different person. As if she has Alzheimer's, Reiko says whatever is on her mind.

Han Gyul and Go Un is a young couple raising their newborn Woo Rim. Not too long ago, they got scammed by a real estate agent and lost their entire fortune leaving them homeless. Eventually, they lug their belongings and try to sleep at Jjimjilbangs every night. Han Gyul provides delivery service driving a scooter and Go Un put up flyers carrying Woo Rim. However, it seems impossible to find a place to live by their endeavors alone. One day, Woo Rim gets hurt at a Jjimjilbang and the couple’s situation becomes more desperate. They end up temporarily staying at a house of this elderly woman whom Han Gyul got to know through his delivery service work. Han Gyul tells Go Un that this lady is visiting the US for a month but the whole thing feels suspicious to her. Homeless illustrates the despair of the younger generation toward housing problems. The couple dreams to live a life like a model house that appears in the first scene, but the reality is the opposite.
