"Girlfriend is an entry in the 'Love Collection', a series of six low-budget, DV-shot features obviously modelled after 2000's Love Cinema (which was best known for the Miike entry Visitor Q and to which Hiroki himself contributed Tokyo Trash Baby). Including entries by both established filmmakers such as Kazuyoshi Kumakiri (A Volatile Woman) and promising newcomers like Yuki Tanada (Moon and Cherry, see below), the overall quality of this new venture is astonishingly high, certainly given the restrictions imposed on the filmmakers. Hiroki's instalment, scripted by Vibrator scribe Shotaro Oikawa, follows the exploits of Kyoko (Yamada), a young upstart photographer whose life is something of a shambles. She has clear aims for herself, but doubts her own ability to achieve them. When one of her many short-term boyfriends, the editor of a magazine with amateur nudes, asks her to take pictures for his publication, she agrees, seeing it as at least a step forward and an opportunity to develop her skills. Despite the fact that Kyoko's a girl herself, approaching women on the streets and asking them to pose nude for her proves to be quite a chore. At first she accosts every pretty girl that walks by, until Miho (Kawai) catches her eye. Feeling that she has that certain something special, Kyoko insists that Miho pose for her. Her own life floating rudderless after the separation of her parents, Miho accepts, half entertaining the idea to get back at her father (Taguchi), who has gone on to form a new family and who hasn't been in touch with her in years. The two girls walk around town, Kyoko snapping pictures and listening to Miho's stories. Gradually the two young women begin to sense a mutual attraction. When the time comes to get down to the nitty gritty of the nude shots, the girls' defences come down along with their clothes."

While driving home for his daughter's birthday, a man gets trapped in a collapsed tunnel and struggles to survive with just two bottles of water, a birthday cake, and a cell phone.

Song Chen Yue has been in love with his best friend Su Yi since high school. However, his feelings are not reciprocated since Su Yi is madly in love with a classmate, Bai Yu, but his love for the boy is also an unrequited one. Tired of seeing the person he loves suffering, Chen Yue makes a deal with Bai Yu in order to make him agree to go out with Su Yi, offering him money to pay for the medical costs of his sick mother. Unable to refuse the offer, Bai Yu starts a relationship with Su Yi based on lies. Shortly after, Bai Yu disappears without giving any explanation. Three years later, Bai Yu reappears and Su Yi tries to resume his relationship with him, much to the chagrin of Chen Yue, who has not yet managed to confess his feelings for his friend. Meanwhile, Chen Yue's younger sister plans with the help of Bai Yu to have her brother confess to Su Yi by having them participate in a new virtual reality game called "Fanatic", which was being developed by her company.

In the royal palace of King Jung-Jo, court nurse Chun-Ryung (Park Jin-Hee) is called into the quarters of the royal concubine Hee-Bin (Yoon Se-Ah). One of the royal concubine's maids Wol-Ryung (Seo Yeong-Hee) is found hanging to death in her maid chamber. Court nurse Chun-Ryung investigates the area and realizes fairly quickly that Wol-Ryung did not commit suicide.

Nevertheless, the supervising maid orders court nurse Chun-Ryung to classify the woman's death as a suicide. Otherwise, a forthcoming scandal would jeopardize royal concubine Hee-Bin's source of power and, consequently, the maids source of power.

Meanwhile, court nurse Chun-Ryung conducts an autopsy on Wol-Ryung. She discovers a startling secret. Wol-Ryung recently gave birth to a child, even though maids are sworn to keep their chastity for the King. Court nurse Chun-Ryung is now almost certain that someone murdered Wol-Ryung and begins her own secret investigation.

Ha-Mi (Han Ji-Hye) is a university student who believes in destiny and true love. She meets Young-Bin (Lee Dong-Gun) by chance and falls in love with him at first sight. Unfortunately, Young-Bin has blood type B, which is believed to be undesirable for Ha-Mi's blood type A. Young-Bin, though, woos Ha-Mi with presents, but he then shows a cheap and selfish side. Ha-Mi decides to break up with him. Young-Bin realizes he loves Ha-Mi and tries to win her back.

A story of three couples and their intertwining love stories set in 1940s Taiwan and Shanghai, centered around the 1949 sinking of Taiping.

Sleeping on Dark Waters could be called a 'Making of I Don't Want to Sleep Alone,' although to do so would be a disservice to what in my mind is a little masterpiece. Like other films in Tsai's canon, Sleeping gives us a distanced glance of the everyday, showing us in a distinctly unassuming way how Tsai directs a film with a familiar cast/crew. At once funny and oddly mesmerizing, this documentary (which has never been released in the US) is a worthy member of Tsai Ming-liang's family of films.

Miho, a high school student, refuses to approve of her widowed mother's potential husband when they meet each other at a restaurant. As she flounces out of the restaurant, she drops her cell phone. At the moment there is an earthquake, and she drops her cell phone down a staircase. The phone is found by Tokijiro, a boy that lives in 1912.
