An old man’s relationship with animals evolves and changes forever when a young boy enters his lonely life.

The story begins with a "white lie". Jian Bin (Geng Le) has been unemployed for three months but cannot bring himself to tell his wife of seven years (Xu Jung Lei). Their relationship has begun to shut down, with only their ability to talk about the most banal topics. Every morning he puts on a suit and tie, takes his briefcase, and pretends to leave for work. But instead of going to work, he spends the day riding the subway. In the subway, the camera discovers other couples and other worlds. Each pair has a different rhythm and a different way of communicating. Meanwhile, Jian Bin becomes desperate as he begins to run out of money and excuses. In turn, we also learn that his wife has her secrets too. When I first read the synopsis I wasn't too sure about this film, but once I'd watched it, I was glad I had.  At first glance, I thought it would be a typically goofy Japanese comedy. But I was pleasantly surprised.Of course, I would always watch a Shindo film and know I would find much to like. In this case, it was the humanity and depth of feeling that Shindo captures throughout the film that impressed me. It is light hearted in general and has many humourous scenes, but it always comes back to the emotional needs of the characters and the goodness of character and concern for others that helps them pull through the different trials life brings.It's definitely not sugar coated. There's lots of hardship and things don't work out the way the characters might hope. I don't know if you'd call this a 'feel good' movie, but it certainly leaves you with a sense of the goodness in people however imperfect we might be.

International Security Affairs agent Jon is on a dangerous mission to escort a criminal scientist to another country. En route, a member of his team turns out to be a traitor and shoots Jon in the head while kidnapping the scientist. Jon returns to Beijing to see his mother, who confesses that Jon has a brother in Malaysia who was raised by his father, a gambler. Jon takes a flight to Malaysia to find his brother, Yeung. On the plane he forms a bond with Dr. Kan, who promises to look into possible treatments for his condition. However, when they arrive, Yeung tries to kidnap the doctor and when Jon intervenes, he's also taken hostage. The two soon realize they're brothers, and decide to work together in order to keep the criminals behind the kidnappings from reinfecting the world of a disease long thought cured.

The manga series consists of 10 different love stories and the movie "Kiyoku Yawaku" is based on the last episode "Kanna story"

Wan Joo is a stage actor and also makes money on the side playing roles for clients. He is then asked to act as a witness in a murder case by the victim's mother. Wan Joo doesn't like the idea, but he needs the money and accepts. He goes to the police station and gives a false testimony. But then he realizes that his false statement brands an innocent young man as the murderer. To get the investigation back on track, Wan Joo seeks out the person who asked him to lie, only to discover that she isn’t who she said she was.
