The 44th NHK Taiga Drama is about the life of Minamoto no Yoshitsune (源 義経) (1159 - May_17, 1189) was a late Heian and early Kamakura general of the Minamoto clan of Japan. Yoshitsune was the ninth son of Minamoto no Yoshitomo. His older brother Minamoto no Yoritomo founded the Kamakura shogunate.

Aap Ki Kaneez revolves around a wealthy businessman, Shah Mir Afandi who has lost his wife, Shireen while giving birth to their daughter Parniyan 12 years ago, however, Shah Mir's love for her wife is still alive in his hearts as he never forgets to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Despite of Shireen's being a divorcee and a mother of a thirteen-year-old boy earlier, Shah Mir was unaffected by her past. Shireen's death leaves an unimaginable void in Shah Mir's life however, his life is turned upside down when a failed kidnapping takes place against him. A kidnapping encounter against Shah Mir forces him to marry his servant's daughter Kaneez who is half his age and is uneducated. Reluctant to inform his family about his relation with Kaneez things slowly escalates in a series of consequences as Kaneez tries to oblige everyone through her actions. Will Kaneez sacrifice everything in order to adjust to her new household?

A new school year begins at Hanzaki Elementary School and there's a new mysterious teacher named Akutsu Maya in grade 6, class 3. Meanwhile, Kanda Kazumi is now entering the 6th grade and filled with excitement about the new school year. Kazumi also has Maya Akutsu as her new homeroom teacher. The students in grade 6, class 3 quickly realize that Maya never smiles at them and treats them mercilessly. Students are not even allowed to use the bathroom during class time. Maya places a high emphasis on test scores and gives pop quizzes every week. Students who receive the lowest scores, become almost like her slaves as they must perform odd jobs in the classroom. Kazumi quickly falls into the crosshairs of Maya. A year 1-year battle then ensues between Maya, who rules her classroom like a queen, and the students of grade 6, class 3.

This '70s ghost drama began with Wang Jian, a policeman, discovering neighbor Huang Yinggu's ghost who has been trapped in a braid inside the police station for over ten years. Yinggu slowly reveals her story to Jian. She was wrongly sentenced to death for a crime she never committed. Yinggu's nephew Ye Jiasheng committed the murder and heartlessly set Yinggu up and made her his scapegoat. Fate is always ironical and cruel, as Yinggu discovers. She soon gets involved with Ye Jiasheng's affairs a second time. First, she manages to persuade her daughter Sun Minghua (Irene Wong) to break off with Ye Jiasheng's son Ye Zuguang, who is a flirt. Later, Ye Zuguang commits mass murder (locking people inside a building, preventing them escaping from the fire). Minghua is on the scene coincidentally and Jiasheng decides to frame her for the crime. Wang Jian, by then a police inspector, is in charge of this case and knows Minghua is innocent and Zuguang involved. He tried his best to solve the case, to ensure justice for the dead and innocent (Minghua) but Ye Jiasheng, a senior police inspector, just seems to be too smart and cunning for Wang Jian to deal with. Ye Jiasheng is willing to do anything (framing Minghua, falsify evidence, killing witnesses) to get his son off the hook. Yinggu's ghost finally meets face to face with the arrogant Ye Jiasheng, who isn’t even scared and taunts Yinggu saying she ought to blame her sorry fate instead. Justice prevails however, Wang Jian finds new evidence to charge Zuguang with and by then a remorseful Zuguang finally confesses to the crime. Ye Jiasheng dies a sorry death from cancer and Huang Yinggu is assumed to have reincarnated. There is a sub-plot toward the end where Wang Jian's wife Baoyan (Maggie Cheung) accepts corruption money from Jian’s superior who asks her to take on behalf of Jian. Wang Jian finds out and Baoyan decides to turn herself in. The show ends with Baoyan being released from jail and a family reunion with Wang Jian and family.

The show highlights certain issues of Pakistani society including the backwardness of certain areas of Pakistan where people like Pirzada Wasif; being "Pir" think that they can run the society according to their own opinions and views and can dominate other people on this basis. The other issue is regarding the film industry of Pakistan where certain women like Pirzadi Noushaba deviate from the right path and for the sake of getting fame, sacrifice their loved ones and their morals and start walking on the wrong path.
