While Nishimura Kanade was a 3rd grade middle school student, her father, who worked as a prosecutor, died in an incident. After her father’s death, she and her mother moved to her moved to her mother’s hometown in Nagano Prefecture. Nishimura Kanade wanted to become a prosecutor like her father, and she entered law school at a national university in Nagano Prefecture. There, she had 4 friends, including Nogi Masaki. They became really close friends and shared memorable experiences together. Due to a case involving a death, their relationship ended.

12 years later, Nishimura Kanade is now 35 years old and works as a prosecutor in the Yokohama District Public Prosecutors’ Office. Her boyfriend is Okuda Takashi, who works as a doctor, and they live together. One day, one of her law school classmates, who disappeared after the death case, appears in front of her. Nishimura Kanade must confront the suspicious death case from her law school days. This leads her to examine the truth behind her father’s death from 20 years ago and also the secret faces of her friends.

The story revolves around Ogami Ryutaro aka "The Owl", a man who controls Japan from within the shadaows, and his son Ogami Ryu , who counters his father as a "dark hero." "The Owl" is Ogami Ryutaro, a mastermind who solves various scandals and sensational cases by covering them up or bringing them to light. Ogami Ryu upholds justice with a worldview very much different to his father, and he works behind the scenes in order to correct his father's actions.

The drama follows the lives of seven boys navigating their school years and personal growth, each grappling with family obligations, loss, poverty, abandonment, violence, and rejection.

After an unwanted return to Songju-si, Kim Hwan meets six boys. As an outsider and the son of Kim Chang Jun, the boys sometimes find him suspicious and misunderstand his actions, leading to conflicts. Despite these initial difficulties, they eventually become friends. It seemed awkward at first, but over time, they grow closer and open their hearts. They travel and play together, sharing their problems to help each other heal. Realizing they all have similar family issues, they become even closer. Hwan confronts his own feelings by staying with the other boys. As he spends time with them, he starts to like Songju-si and genuinely wishes for these days to continue forever.

However, Chang Jun notices the other boys and considers them useless, insisting that Hwan stay away from them. Hwan, who has always lived an obedient life, raises his voice for the first time and confronts his emotions.

Woo Sung Jae is an assistant priest at a Catholic Church. The presiding priest at the church ran away after news broke out about the approaching asteroid. It is a form of art criticism and education for modern unhealthy phenomena.
