Nagumo Shuji played baseball for a long time. His life revolved around baseball, but while he played for his university baseball team, he was injured. Due to his injury, Nagumo Shuji quit baseball and dropped out of school. He then worked as a sports trainer, but he made the decision to pursue his dream of becoming a teacher. At the age of 32, he enrolled at a university again and studied to become a teacher. Now, Nagumo Shuji works as a social studies teacher at Etsuzan High School in Mie Prefecture. He is married to Mika, and they live with Mika's father and their two children. Their two children are Aozora, who is from Mika's previous relationship, and their daughter Nagisa.

Meanwhile, there is a baseball team at Etsuzan High School, but they have not had many winning seasons. Inuzuka Mikio is a rich man from a prestigious family. His grandson enters Etsuzan High School, and his goal is to play baseball professionally in the United States. For his grandson, Inuzuka Mikio supports the high school baseball team, and Nagumo Shuji becomes an advisor for the team.

One night, a car carrying the prime minister is involved in an accident, falling off a cliff. The deceased driver is suspected of drunk driving….. Furthermore, suspicion begins to mount that there is a connection to a secret scandal surrounding the approval of a new drug. Meanwhile, a man approaches the prime minister’s secretary, who is busy dealing with the accident. His name is Shitara Kyoichi, also known as the “fixer”. In 1990, Hagizaki Tatsuo, the accounting department chief of Ukishima Electric Works, was busy negotiating on getting a loan together with Sekino, the company's general manager. He instinctively knows that delving into the kidnap and murder of the child will shed light on the case. Kusaka visits Shigeto who has left the police for a long time and searches for clues. He makes contact with Mamoru’s mother Saeko and her older sister Rie, and gradually draws near the real culprit.

Tooru Igarashi (Kotaro Koizumi) is a lecturer with charisma, working at a prestigious preparatory school. Recently, he drinks a lot and his life falls apart. The autopsy concludes that the female froze to death, but a kidney from the body was removed. Detective Shiroi (Kosuke Toyohara) doubts the conclusion of the autopsy report. Meanwhile, female patient Haruko Takakura receives an artificial dialysis. Her daughter appeals to Dr. Seiichiro Hino (Tetsuya Takeda) to give her kidney to her mother, but Dr. Seiichiro Hino opposes. An injured man and woman are brought to the hospital. Director of the Hospital, Isamu Ota (Shigemitsu Ogi), learns from the scars of the injured persons, that a kidney transplant was carried out between the man and woman. He also learns that the kidney was sold and bought. He reports his discovery to the police. Dr. Seiichiro Hino performed the kidney transplant and is asked to go to the police station. TV program director Kyota Numazaki decides to cover the story between the female body and the organ trade.

The body of a young lady, who had been fatally stabbed in a back alley of Yokohama’s shopping and entertainment district, is discovered. Four detectives from the Fourth Section of Minato-cho Police Precinct’s Criminal Affairs Division – Togashi Masayoshi, Iinuma Reiko, Shibata Yasuharu and Yamashita Manabu – quickly rush to the scene. Togashi finds something in the pocket of the dead body and nonchalantly hides it in his own suit. He presumes Reiko and the others will turn a blind eye even though they have noticed it. Detectives from the prefectural police’s First Investigative Division arrive shortly after that. The members of the Fourth Section, who have been deprived of their right to investigate by the First Investigative Division, dejectedly walk away from the scene. However, they secretly begin their own investigation. Three days later, Satonaka Keiichiro, the Fourth Section’s new chief, arrives. Satonaka himself believes he has been demoted to the precinct because of he denounced the unfair appointment of the prefectural police chief’s nephew. However, the objective of Maejima Ryuzo, the head of police administration who sent him into Minato-cho Police Precinct, is to let Satonaka keep tabs on Togashi and the Fourth Section. Maejima warns Satonaka that there is a “bad rumour” about the Fourth Section. Togashi and the others are seen as misusing their high arrest rate and frequently disobeying the orders of the prefectural police. In fact, they are even suspected of all kinds of illegal activities which include extorting confessions under duress, having cosy ties with crime syndicates and accepting bribes. Tokunaga Yasushi, the former section head who was investigating the facts, had lost his footing on the rooftop of a building while pursuing a robber and had fallen to his death... Was Tokunaga’s death really an accident?! Satonaka regards his new subordinates with caution but the four of them are unexpectedly affable and excellent detectives, especially Togashi who is a stimulating and gallant man. They give Satonaka a thorough report on the investigation into the murder which occurred three days ago, and say that they are searching for eyewitnesses in line with the prefectural police’s position that it was a “random attack”. Sawatari Goro now works at Akado High School as a vice principal. So Sawatari goes far away to a southern island to search for Yankumi, and convince her to work for Akado. Yankumi accepts the offer, only to find that her class (again) is full of punks, where two rival groups of students are always at each other's throats. Will Yankumi's strong belief in students and teaching work this time?

Losing her mother at a young age, Misaki Yoko was raised amongst three brothers. Yoko is a slightly boyish girl who is bullheaded and hates dishonesty. Ever since she was young, she enjoyed the company of boys over girls. She starts a band with four of her boy friends and becomes the lead singer. Then one day, one of the members of the band, Tsukasa, gets a job at a bank in Tokyo. Due to Tsukasa leaving town, the band breaks up, and though Yoko finds herself lonely, she puts on a strong act in front of Tsukasa. She can't tell Tsukasa how she truly feels for him. On the day Tsukasa leaves for Tokyo, Yoko goes along with the band members to the airport to see him off. The guys get excited when they see some cabin crew ladies and Yoko has no idea why. She reminds them that even she can wear a uniform, but the guys only make fun of her. That's when Tsukasa tells Yoko he wonders what she'd look like dressed in uniform. This is when Yoko decides she wants to work as a Cabin Attendant.
