In 1865, Hanpeita Takechi (Ryo Nishikido) belongs to political activist group Shishi. He is then imprisoned and ordered to kill himself for disrespecting the Lord. When Hanpeita Takechi is about to carry out the suicide, he suddenly finds himself asleep in the middle of a country road. He is now in present day Japan, but he has no idea how he got here.

Hanpeita Takechi wants to go back, but he is stuck in the remote rural area. Meanwhile, villagers are embarrassed by Hanpeita’s appearance. Haruka Saeki (Manami Higa) works at a public office there and she hears about Hanpeita Takechi. Haruka Saeki finds him at the supermarket.

Neko Zamurai Season 2 (Spring 2015) stars Kitamura Kazuki, reprising his role as Madarame Kyutaro, the former swordplay mentor turned ronin, with his feline companion, Tamanojo. Kyutaro, along with the cat, has returned to Edo after visiting his family back in his homeland. He intends to once again try finding a job as a Samurai in the city. However, trouble awaits him at his tenement housing. His old landlord has assigned his daughter Kikuno (Mori Kanna) as the new landlady. Kikuno reiterates her father's rule of "no cats allowed." Park Cha Oh Reum is a newly appointed judge who is assigned to the 44th Civil Affairs Department at the Seoul Central District. She is always on the lookout for injustice and is able to profoundly empathize with others. In 1991, Seung-Ho, a college student activist, is imprisoned. While in prison Seung-Ho meets Kyung-Sik, who is serving time for the murder of Myeong-Hee. Seung-Ho questions Kyung-Sik about the murder, but Kyung-Sik only repeats the same word. Suddenly, Kyung-Sik kills himself. Because of Kyung-Sik's death, Seung-Ho and Dong-Sik have an uncomfortable meeting.

By 1998, and since the conviction of Kyung-Sik as a murderer, Dong-Sik's family is scattered. His older sister Jin-Hee works as a prostitute in Seoul and is murdered. Seung-Ho, now a prosecutor, takes the case and meets Dong-Sik.

Kenichi Nakamura (Masato Sakai) runs a small ironworks, but since he lost his wife (Maki Sakai) in a hit and run car accident 5 years ago his life has become mundane. Meanwhile, Kijima (Takayuki Yamada), who committed the hit and run accident, finishes his prison term and is released from prison. As time passes, a threatening letter arrives for Kijima. People around Kenichi try to stop him, but on the anniversary of his wife's death these two people meet to confront each other.

1941. The Japanese invasion of Malaya. Aishah (Diana Danielle) tries to flee from the invading forces while her village burns behind her. The story begins with Song (Toomtam) being brought from Nakonpratom to Bangkok by his brother Neung (Ak), so he can receive his inheritance. Song is currently running away from debt so he decides to leave. He brings along his bestfriend Ord (Jack Cheunyim). When they get to Bangkok, Neung tells Song about their family secret; that they have the ability to see ghosts and spirts. It has been passed down from generation to generation in their family. Hearing this, Song didn't believe it. Neung then showed Song by revealing that he was a ghost. After that, Song believes him.

When Yothaka's mother marries Chatcharun's rich father, Chatcharun is not happy. He believes that her and her mother are both gold diggers. Also, Yothaka has just returned from abroad and has a care-free "western" attitude. She is a rebel at heart, while Chatcharun is conservative. Along with believing she is a gold-digger, he also thinks she is "easy". She encourages that misconception just to annoy him. He harasses, she teases. They bicker. A lot.

What he doesn't know is that when he turns red from the heat of spice, he's grained with a superpower.
