A comedy focusing on Kondo Asami, a 33-year-old single woman who lives with her parents and works at the local city hall, and suddenly finds herself starting her life over from scratch. After Rie got a divorce, she raised her child alone and returned to her hometown. There, she met Daisuke and married him. She enjoyed a happy family life with Daisuke and their 2 children. Suddenly, Daisuke died in an accident. While she was grieving, Daisuke’s older brother Kyoichi visited his funeral. The two brothers had been estranged for many years. When Kyoichi saw Daisuke's picture, he stated that the person in the picture was not his brother.

Jinko (Aoi Miyazaki) and Motoko (Sakura Ando) have been friends since their university days. One day, they hear a rumor about their former classmate and friend Miki (Kazue Fukiishi). The rumor is that Miki ran into the sea, but got out safely. Jinko and Motoko decide to visit Miki to see if she is OK. In addition, Haraki (Shiori Kutsuna), who Jinko met at the library where she works, joins their trip as a driver. Their one night and two days road trip begins.

Terako is in the midst of an affair with a married man named Iwanaga as his wife lays in a coma. Later, Michiru finds out the lottery ticket she bought is the winning ticket of a 200 million yen prize. Her world is about to change. A man who claims to be Michiru's husband tells the story of her personal life. Michiru's long time friend Takei (Kengo Kora) is the only she trust in Tokyo, but Takei has something to hide. Meanwhile, Toyomasu goes missing. Her former boyfriend Kyutaro arrives in Tokyo to find Michiru, but falls into an incident. A murder takes place.

Kazuyuki Yamamura works at a major advertising agency, and is the breadwinner of his family, which consists of himself, wife Miki, and daughter Rie. He purchases a house, and is proud of being at the pinnacle of his career. Kazuyuki's neighbor, Yusuke Sugio, however, leads a completely different life. The breadwinner of his family is his wife Shoko, who runs her own company. Yusuke is a so-called "at-home dad," and because of this, Kazuyuki considers him miserable and helpless. Suddenly one day, Kazuyuki is forced to quit his company. At the same time, his wife receives a call from her former employer saying he wants her to come back to work. Consequently, Kazuyuki has no other choice but to stay at home while Miki works. Kazuyuki reluctantly starts his new life as a household husband—the last thing he wanted to do. Kazuyuki's new "career" starts out as a big failure, because he can't seem to do anything right. This consequently causes his pride as an elite businessman to go right down the drain. But thanks to his hard-working personality, he is determined to get the ball rolling—and soon after, finds himself enjoying life as an at-home dad. From this point on, Kazuyuki begins looking up to Yusuke as his mentor.

Sawa Yamagishi worked as a nursing-care helper. The family of an old man asked Sawa to sleep with him, which led her to eventually lose her job and house. Now, she has nowhere to go. Ichiko and her sister's relationship goes bad, causing Ichiko to move out and live alone. What brings happiness to Ichiko is to watch a middle-aged boxer practice at a boxing gym. The boxing gym is located between the 100 yen shop where she works and her home.

One day, Ichiko and the middle-aged boxer meet and they begin to live together.

In the fictional town of Mahoro on the outskirts of Tokyo is Tada Benriken, a small business which does odd jobs. Its owner is the solemn and level-headed Tada Keisuke (Eita), and his unexpected guest, the easygoing but vague Gyoten Haruhiko (Matsuda Ryuhei), a former junior high school classmate who showed up one day and started to sponge on him. The two of them get on like oil and water, and yet are somehow inseparable. They receive queer, dubious incoming odd job requests which they accept, and what comes into view are the friendship between them as well as the backgrounds of their clients.

The murder of Emili, a young girl, leaves the inhabitants of a small Japanese village in shock. The raped body of Emily is found by the four classmates with whom she was playing. The murder is never solved. Emili's mother Asako is torn by grief and puts a curse on the four girls when they claim that they don't remember the killer's face. Each of the girls, in their own way, will do their penance for their silence. Deeply struck by the words of Asako and burdened with her curse, the four girls are forced into adulthood which eventually triggers a tragic chain of events.
