In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. By a twist of fate, she crosses paths with the carefree Chen Awang, and the two fall for each other. When local tyrant Zheng Juehou intensifies his hold over the neighborhood, Ye Ruzhou rises to defend her new community. Jin Il and Ga Yeong are teenage runaways who live like a family with other runaway children. Sometimes they do some delivery work, sometimes they steal things to make their living. When they run out of money, they make Ga Yeong lure a middle-aged man to a motel. She seduces him as if she were selling her body, but she fails to take any money from him, as he takes her hostage and demands Jin Il brings him money. It turns out that he is a crooked Karaoke bar owner who forces runaway girls like Ga Yeong to work for him. Can Jin Il rescue her?

At AM 07:00, Ki Chul begins his part-time job at a convenience store on the outskirts of town. He is learning the ropes from Ha Na who is about to quit. Ki Chul hesitates to reveal his feelings for Ha Na as she is heartbroken over a failed relationship.

At PM 1:0, A university student, dropout, indie musician, lesbian and others gather at the small convenience store to do part-time work.

At PM 6:00, Light goes out at the 24-hour convenience store. Customers try to enter the store, but the door is locked. An unsuspected ending takes place for the day.

Toda (Koji Yakusho), who has been in confinement for killing a boy servant who had an affair with his concubine 7 years ago. Akiya Toda is expected to commit hara-kiri within 3 years. In the meantime, Akiya Toda works on an order from the previous daimyo to write the daimyo's family tree into a book. Soon, Shozaburo Danno becomes touched by Akiya Toda, Akiya Toda's wife Orie (Mieko Harada) and his daughter Kaoru (Maki Horikita). Specifically, Shozaburo Danno is moved by Akiya Toda's enthusiasm for making the daimyo's family tree book and Orie's love and trust for her husband and daughter. He finds it difficult to believe that Akiya Toda killed a boy servant. Shozaburo Danno decides to investigate the case which occurred 7 years ago.
