In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. Zhang, a righteous and talented policeman who has solved many cases. Ngo, who was once a promising young cop under Zhang’s wing. An unfortunate incident led Ngo to prison several years ago. Upon his release, Ngo becomes a bitter and resentful man who sets out to destroy all those who have wronged him.

Disappointed by the news that the object of her affection is getting married, Takako (Kikuchi Akiko) quits her job suddenly. She soon receives an offer from her uncle Satoru, who asks for her to come help run his bookstore in Jinbocho; a district of Tokyo with a high concentration of book stores, publishing companies, and distribution warehouses. Thus begins her everyday life at Morisaki Bookstore, where she absorbs the unique atmosphere and meets various quirky customers. Takako hadn’t read many novels in her life, but she finds herself being gradually drawn into the world of second-hand books. As summer turns to fall and winter in Jinbocho, Takako experiences personal growth through introspection and her newfound love of books.

Because of an accident, assistant architect An Yi and piano tuner Gao Ang become connected through brain waves. Since then, the lives of the two become linked and gradually become the most "understanding" of each other.

At the bustling "Ba Ba Ba Night Market," vendors deal with rivalries, unspoken romances and disputes over trivial matters, while working hard to sell their tasty delicacies. Kajiki Hidemaru, Chu-san, and Yuki are patients at a psychiatric hospital in Komoro, Nagano Prefecture. Hidemaru killed his mother and daughter-in-law. Chu-san used to work as a salaryman, but he suffers from auditory hallucinations. Yuki is a high school student and she refuses to go to school. Due to that, she receives outpatient treatment.

Patients at the psychiatric hospital try to live brightly, but things suddenly change. A murder takes place at the hospital. The murderer is Hidemaru.

One day, Master Ma is walking down the street, suddenly he sees the words "Huashan Sect" (华山派) hiding between the green grass. He closes his eyes and hence the duel with different martial arts masters begins.

Juzo Itami, director of "Tampopo," is back in the food business again. This time he hits the big supermarkets and their nefarious ways. They buy cheap and sell high, they repackage yesterday's fish and refry last week's croquettes. Worst of all, they willfully market Australian beef dressed up as Japan's precious steak. But they meet their match in Nobuko Miyamoto, who steps in and cleans things up. Just as she outwitted tax offenders, big business scammers and evil gangsters in previous Itami films, so she now does her level best to make the super market safe for the local housewife.

On a rooftop in the middle of a thick urban forest of skyscrapers, the Mantis gang, living legends of the underworld, is engaged in a bloody battle with rival gang members. When things are looking very bad for the Mantis gang, a deafening roar announces the arrival of a helicopter overhead. It's Cha Eun-jin, the woman who conquered the male-dominated realm with only a pair of her lethal scissors. However, Eun-jin is attacked by an opponent and falls off the rooftop. She survives but sustains serious head injuries and remembers nothing of her past. She is discovered by Jae-chul (Park Joon-kyu), a Chinese restaurant cook, and ends up devliering food on a scooter for "Fusion Chinese Restaurant Shu." Having forgotten that she was a born fighter, Eun-jin lives a peaceful life while various men like "Moneylender Koh" (Joo Hyon) and "Girllove" (Lee Won-jong) vie for her affections. By chance, she thwarts a bank robbery and is honored with a "Brave Citizen Award." Unfortunately, this reveals her whereabouts to the White Sharks, who have been eagerly waiting for their chance for revenge. They team up with some loan sharks who have been looking to develop the marketplace area to back Eun-jin into a corner. She has no alternative but to risk her life once again in a bloody war with her sworn enemies.
