In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. By a twist of fate, she crosses paths with the carefree Chen Awang, and the two fall for each other. When local tyrant Zheng Juehou intensifies his hold over the neighborhood, Ye Ruzhou rises to defend her new community. Koji is a college student and aspiring photographer. One day, while Koji is taking pictures of families in a Tokyo park, a man suddenly appears within his camera's view and interrupts his shot. However, he's later contacted by the man with an odd request. Without revealing the purpose of the job, he asks Koji to take photographs of a woman who walks through the park with her young daughter. Koji agrees, but the strange task leads to changes in the relationships he has with the women in his life.

Those women include a longtime friend that Koji can talk to about anything and his step-sister, who offers both kindness and firm encouragement when he needs it. As Koji photographs the new third woman in his life, he feels as if she reminds him of someone from a distant memory.

In the countryside, at a Catholic Church, luxurious cars come rolling in. A wedding is set to take place between Ji Hong and Yu Ri. The couple met as music club members at their university. Their friends from their university days are all arriving, most of whom they haven't seen in 10 years.

Seung Ho is now a lawyer and married. Hyeong Woo is now a university professor who is persistently single. Kyeong Ho is now a PD at a television station. Seong Ju is now a businesswoman who brought along her boyfriend 12 years her junior. Min Hee has a stable family.

After the wedding, all the friends gather together at the vacation home operated by Ji Hong and Yu Ri. During the evening a young girl named Mi Rae appears at the vacation home. She informs the group that Yeong Hee was her mother and she died in a car accident one month ago. Furthermore, she tells everyone that she came here to meet her father. Tension, shock, and surprise then overtake the gathered friends as they recall their relationships with Yeong Hee.

When tragedy happens, no one is outsider. A public slashing incident connects a group of young lost souls in Taipei city.

More than 5,000 kilometres long, highway 318 connects China with Tibet and is one of the world's most picturesque routes. It is where Xiaojia, who is Chinese, meets Suona from Tibet one day.
