In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. By a twist of fate, she crosses paths with the carefree Chen Awang, and the two fall for each other. When local tyrant Zheng Juehou intensifies his hold over the neighborhood, Ye Ruzhou rises to defend her new community. The specifically Korean tradition that is reclaimed in Sopyonje is the type of folk-song known as pansori, described as a musical sublimation of South-West Korea's collective grief and suffering - in other words, a kind of blues. The film's three central characters are itinerant pansori singers in the 1950s, a time when many aspects of Korean culture came under siege from Japanese and western influences. The story unfolds through flashbacks. A man named Dong-ho is roaming the rural hinterlands, ostensibly to find rare herbal medicines for his sick son back in Seoul, but actually in search of Song-hwa, the woman he grew up with. Orphans, they were both apprenticed to the pansori master Yu-bong (played by the film's writer, Kim Myung-gon) who pressured them to sacrifice everything for the art.

Long Wei, Lu Da Shan, and Ma Yue suddenly received an emergency call from Yatta. She told Long Wei that she had learned the contents of the Black Poppy Project! Long Wei and others converged with Yatta, and she brought a girl named "Luna" to meet Long Wei. From the girl’s mouth, Long Wei learned that she was a doctoral student in biology who had just escaped from a private medical experiment center in the northern part of Fujikuni. In the laboratory, a person named Dr. Haiya was from Black Poppy. The developer, the black element he developed, added to drugs, will increase the desire for drugs hundreds of times, and then become crazy. The black element is a gene toxin developed based on the mutation of base 538 on the ABCC11 gene in the middle of chromosome 16. This gene mutation is also the source of body odor. Among Chinese people, 95% of these gene mutations, North China and other Central Plains accounted for 99%. In other words, this toxin is a genetic weapon specifically aimed at the Chinese! A few days ago, two mysterious people (viper and elk) came to the medical experiment center. They told the doctor that the black fox would start the black poppy program in advance, and asked the doctor to produce 2000 ml of black elements within a few days and offered to use it. Buying the formula map of the black element at a high price, Dr. Haya agreed to sell the black element but refused to sell the formula map. They left in angrily and agreed to deliver the goods within a few days.

A high school girl, Wara, looks cheerful, but she conceals darkness deep in her mind. On a sudden impulse, she nearly climbs over a fence on the hospital roof, when an unacquainted boy, called Dino, persuades her otherwise. Concerned about troubled Wara, Dino puts a bandage on the fence. Wara feels comforted by his act, and comes up with an idea to form "Hotai Club" (Bandage Club).

The Club asks people to post their bruising experiences on the site, then the Club applies a bandage to the damaged part or the place, and a digital photograph is sent back to the original poster. Wara started the Club with Dino and other friends. Club members each have their own problems, but they are gradually freed from their worries through the activities of the Club.

Kim In Seo is an up-and-coming patent lawyer. He graduated from Yale University and was recently featured in Fortune Magazine. Kim In-Seo accepts an invitation to speak at a University and then takes a long bus ride to give the special lecture on patent law. A lady he met the day before, at an arranged matchmaking date, finds out that he will be riding the bus and decides to take the same bus. When they met at their matchmaking, Kim In Seo’s mother explained to the lady, that something quite profound happened to her son a few years ago, but she is not sure what happened. While taking the evening bus together, Kim In Seo tells the story of that profound experience which involved a lady named Hwa Yeon, the palm grove trees and the unfulfilled promises.

17-year-old Sara (Minami Hoshino) gets into an accident and falls into critical condition. She wakes up in the hospital the next morning and sees a nurse, Nanami (Asuka Saito), next to her bed. Sara can not feel pain. Nanami shows Sara around the hospital.

At night, Sara knows Nanami is a patient and not a nurse. She also knows that she has been in a coma for the past 10 years since she got into the car accident at the age of 7. Sara is also surprised that she is still in a coma. She is having an out-of-body experience.

Dong Hyeon is a high school student and Pan Soo is a member of a criminal organization. One day, Dong Hyeon falls from the rooftop and falls on top of Pan Soo. Later when the gangster wakes up in the hospital, he finds himself in the body of a teenager.

Everything changes for the Ing family when the husband and father is diagnosed with terminal cancer. The mother, who is the main supporter has become more isolated, while the son is no longer certain about his future plans although he has been accepted to study abroad. The conflicted family returns to the father’s hometown for the tomb-sweeping ritual, but his original mountain tomb has been replaced by a newly built hotel.
