After Jae-Hyun is discharged from the military, he begins to sell roasted sweet potatoes to pay for his university tuition fees. Hye-Ri works at a room salon. She often buys roasted sweet potatoes from Jae-Hyun. One day, drunken Hye-Ri goes to Jae-Hyun and asks him to be her friend. Jae-Hyun says yes. Later, at the corner of an alley, Hye-Ri is bitten by an employee at the room salon. Jae-Hyun helps her and they become closer. Through chance, they spend a night together. Hye-Ri then reappears in Jae-Hyun's life and they fall in love. They even begin to live together. Suddenly, Hye-Ri tells Jae-Hyun that she wants to become an actress. Jae-Hyun supports her, but he eventually tires of supporting her. Around this time, Jae-Hyun begins a relationship with a beautiful client. The relationship between Jae-Hyun and Hye-Ri is now shattered. To make matters worse, goons from the room salon where Hye-Ri formerly worked, begin to look for her and pressures Jae-Hyun.

Jackie Chan directs himself and fellow martial arts superstar Sammo Hung in the action film Jackie Chan's Project A. Chan plays a 19th century Coast Guard officer who must defend Hong Kong's borders from a variety of smugglers and undesirables. Jackie, like always, is at the centre of all the action (and comedy). What distinguishes Jackie from his Hollywood counterparts is that Jackie is not afraid to do his own stunts- even if it means he will break a few bones- and he tries to show all the action without the needless edits. All in all, if you want an action-comedy then this is it.

After the rape and murder of five elementary schoolgirls, the police have still failed to apprehend the serial killer. After one suspect, Yu Min-cheol (Kim Seung-hun), is shot dead — but with no conclusive proof he was guilty — the country's president becomes involved and adds to the pressure on the police to solve the case. Choi Cheol-gi (Hwang Jung-min), a brilliant but sidelined detective at the Metropolitan Investigation Services who has just brought down corrupt property developer Kim Yang-su (Jo Yeong-jin), is suddenly taken off the case and Kim, thanks to his powerful connections, is released and his case closed. He chooses Lee Dong-seok (Woo Don-gi), a school bus driver with a retarded wife (Lee Mi-do) and young daughter (Park Ha-yeong) who has a past criminal record that includes child molestation. However, Choi and his team are secretly monitored by Joo Yang (Ryoo Seung-bum), a Seoul District public prosecutor in the pocket of Kim, who is looking for payback on Choi for bringing him down and losing a construction project to Jang. One evening, however, Kim is stabbed to death while playing golf with Joo, and Joo receives embarrassing photos of himself and Kim together. Suspecting that Choi has fitted up Lee in the serial-murder case, Joo makes his suspicions known to his superiors but cannot present any hard evidence. After Joo is again made to look stupid when Lee mysteriously hangs himself in his holding cell, he launches a blitzkrieg investigation into Choi's whole career and family, and a deadly war breaks out between them, with Jang playing both sides off against each other.
