Disney’s hit High School Musical franchise remade for the Chinese movie market, with a remake of the 2006 TV movie, starring an all-Chinese cast and featuring a new screenplay. High School Musical: China features six young idols as high school teenagers chasing their dreams in the inter-school singing competition. Expect lotsof dazzling song-and-dance sequences like in the originals, but with unique Chinese elements in the story, themusic, and the dancechoreography.“We wrote an original screenplay from the ground up. This is inspired by the spirit of the first one. The young stars are not as well known as they will be soon. In 1777, one year since he had taken reign, King Jeong Jo bears a perilous palace life with his dedicated court servant, Gap Soo, amidst opposition and threats from those around with political ambitions. In finding out what happened, he comes to realize that he knew little of his son. He starts journeying back to Chongqing, a city where he once lived.
