His life in shambles after youthful dreams of becoming a golf champion yield disappointing results, bored stock exchange worker Seungwan receives a second chance at success after a freak accident puts his life back on track. Severely beaten after inexplicably angering local mob boss Ma Gangseong, Seungwan passes out after meeting a man who appears to be his clone. Upon regaining consciousness, Seungwan learns that the life he knew is no more; he is no longer a miserable failure, but a famous golf champion. Though his marriage had been heading down a rocky road for some time, his newfound success and passion finds him and his wife Jiyeong falling back in love. Though everything suddenly seems to be falling into place for Seungwan, an upcoming golf championship threatens to unravel his ideal world unless he is able to pull it all together for one shot at a life of happiness.

101st Marriage Proposal is a "Beauty and the Beast" story starring Takeda Tetsuya (Virgin Road, 3-nen B-gumi Kinpachi Sensei) as a down-on-his-luck man who has gone through 99 omiai (arranged dates with the intention of marriage if the date goes well). Not particularly smart, nor handsome, nor rich, he is a man who cannot lie and of course, has a heart of pure gold. On the 100th omiai, he meets Kaoru (Asano Atsuko), an extremely beautiful and talented cellist who can't forget her dead fiancee.

Adversity! The only word that is perhaps as important to Toshi is "baseball," seeing as how he's the captain of All-Out High School's team. But because the team's record is all losses and no wins, the Principal has made it clear to Toshi that their days are over. Their precious baseball field will be handed over to the soccer team (an unbearable bunch of undeserving jerks!). But nothing seems to motivate Toshi like adversity - his family name, Fukutsu, means "fighting spirit" - and he defiantly tells the Principal that his team will challenge the undisputed champs, Sunrigh High, and if the All-Out team wins, they will keep their field. Toshi's visions of glory are not initially shared by his teammates, but with a little encouragement - okay, a whole gutwrenching mountain of overwrought drama - Toshi gets them on the field to confront Sunrise. It's raining, however, and the frightening Sunrise team shows up just long enough to tell the All-Out gang that they've won by forfeiture. Could things be looking up for the team? Possibly, but more likely, they'll be facing a whole lot more... you guessed it, adversity!
