The story follows a young man who has been single for a year after his boyfriend suddenly disappeared without a formal breakup. Arthouse filmmaker Goo can't seem to direct a hit, but at least the critics love him. He goes to Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province to judge the local film festival, but the common practice for jurors is to schmooze by day, drink at night, and sleep through movies. He bumps into an old friend Boo Sang-yong in town and drinks till he passes out, but not before soundly offending his friend's wife. After Jecheon, Goo heads to Jeju Island to give a college lecture. There he meets up with a former mentor, who it turns out is now married to Goo's ex-unrequited lover

Shiori Kitamura just moved to a new apartment. She works at a company. Susumu Hirano lives next door to her. He aspires to become a novelist. One evening, Shiori Kitamura hears a man’s voice coming through her wall saying "I am in the future 1 year later." The voices asks to trail Susumu Hirano. She is unable to hear the man's voice anymore. To solve the mystery, Shiori Kitamura begins to follow Susumu Hirano and she gets attracted to him.

Talking about their old memories and having fun seems like a happy moment of old friends. But soon when Soo Min leaves to the bathroom, Jin Sook starts a disturbing story about Soo Min that she has been sexually abused by her dad and brother after her mom's death. The main characters are the Mamiya brothers who are living together although they are over 30-years-old. Unconcerned with appearance and reputations, they enjoy their life in their own way. The only concern is the lack of girlfriends. One day, however, a change occurs to their mundane lives. The elder brother, Akinobu, falls in love with a girl at a video shop. The younger brother, Tetsunobu, scrambles around to aid his brother achieve love and arranges various dates.

It continues the cliffhanger from The Kung Fu Cult Master where Zhang Wu Ji heads out to find Zhao Min in Dadu. Unlike the righteous hero in the novels, Zhang Wu Ji's journey is much darker as he turns vengeful.

Zhang Wu Ji takes the Nine Yang Manual back to the Ice Fire Island. Under Xie Xun's tutelage, he finally masters a divine martial arts technique and becomes attuned to the way of the king. Having been oppressed for being weak, Zhang Wuji realizes that the only way he can take revenge is to seize power because his real enemy is the political force behind Cheng Kun. It takes Zhang Wu Ji 20 years before returning to Bright Peak. He is no longer indecisive and distracted by romantic entanglements because he is set on his goal to do whatever it takes to become the Ming Sect leader and then to become King.

Rai keeps failing to find a regular job. He works on setting up an exhibition for classic novel "The Tale of Genji" as a part-time laborer. At the exhibition, he listens to the narration about younger brother Ninomiya and older brother Ichinomiya from "The Tale of Genji." Rai can relate to the story. His younger brother is smart and handsome, but Rai is unable to find a regular job. His inferiority complex about his younger brother gets worse.

On the way back home, he hears that his younger brother has passed his medical school entrance exams. Rai decides to wander around his neighborhood, without going home. At that time, he sees a strange light and is sucked into the light. When he wakes up, Rai finds himself in the Heian period, which is the setting for the novel "The Tale of Genji." He learns about the Heian period from a pamphlet he picked up at the exhibition. He introduces himself as Onmyoji Raimei Ito. Thanks to a headache pill he has on him, he is hired as an onmyoji by the emperor’s wife Nyogo Kokiden. She is a fearless woman and coldly analytical in her actions. She desires to have her son take the emperor's position.

Surprise follows the day-to-day misadventures of a character called Dachui Wang as he navigates though various modern and classic situations. The little monster Wang Dachui, who was born with sharp ears & simple magic, made him different from the ordinaries....

After an earthquake, a husband and wife doctor team close their own clinic and do volunteer work in the stricken area.
