In the early days of the Republic, legendary martial artist Ye Ruzhou suffers a severe injury, losing her memory and winding up in the impoverished alley of Minfu Lane. By a twist of fate, she crosses paths with the carefree Chen Awang, and the two fall for each other. When local tyrant Zheng Juehou intensifies his hold over the neighborhood, Ye Ruzhou rises to defend her new community. Soo Hyeon, a teacher at a private art institute and Ji Yeong, a contract worker at a small network enterprise have been living together for 6 years. To his surprise, SooHyeon finds out that Ji Yeong is late on her period.

One evening, the couple heads to the new home of Ji Yeong's parents in Incheon. The housewarming party dissolves in ill humor when Ji Yeong's mother strongly urges the couple to get married. At the end of a long day, the couple tries to sleep.

The life of Chinese writer Xiao Hong, from her childhood in the Heilongjiang Province to her final days in Hong Kong's Repulse Bay. The love of the author's life, newspaper editor Xiao Jun and the inspiration she drew from him as well as the surrounding literary scene in creating some of China's most enduring masterpieces is explored against the backdrop of a turbulent time that included the formation of the Chinese Communist government and World War II.

The story begins with the tale of a classic Korean story of romance about a princess named Pyun-gang whose husband, On-dal dies. Then we flash forward to a mother who has brought her haunted daughter (also named Pyun-gang) to a psychic, who informs her that her daughter is haunted by the ghost of the princess . He then goes on to say that the girl must marry her On-dal by her 16 birthday and produce a child within a year otherwise she will die. The family treats it skeptically until years later, Pyun-gang has several near-death experiences and is immediately spooked, convinced she is going to die. As luck would have it, soon thereafter, a new transfer student joins Pyun-gang's class. His name is On-dal, and he's intelligent, handsome and rich which really doesn't make the prospect of high school marriage such a tough deal for Pyun-gang, what with her impending death and all.

While having a skewered tempura on a street vendor, the young reporter,Soo-jin accidentally runs into a detective Jae-hyuk, who has an edge-phobia, and sticks the skewer into his side. Since then, they run into eachother whenever there are awkward situation, which eventually becomes aunique love.

Hui (Michael Hui), an owner of a Hong Kong tabloid magazine company, hires martial artist Bill Lee (Sam Hui) to help him get a good headliner for a magazine story to, hopefully, save his failing business. In the process, Bill meets San-San (Catherine Hung Yan), the fiancée of a wealthy jewelry business owner, and pursues her in order to get the scoop about her life. After thinking that San-San would make a great headliner, Bill feels sorry for her because of her troubled life: her mother has cancer, her brother is mentally disabled and her fiancé puts work before her. Thus, Bill is reluctant to publish San-San's story, putting the tabloid company's fate in his hands.
