The story opens with a monologue from a young film-maker looking back on his first, lost love. Having just completed his first film, he is supposed to be preparing a draft of his next script. But feeling restless and a little lost, he is instead on a boat, heading for a motel on a remote island, where 10 years earlier, he once vacationed with his first girlfriend. Back then, they swore to meet there again in ten years time and he is keeping that date, although he strongly doubts that she would show. As the days pass and the time for them to meet again comes closer, he becomes the portrait of a man, waiting for a past, which may or may not return to him.

Yuni Kururugi (Nana Komatsu) is a smart high school student. She excels in all subjects except for English. A new English teacher begins work at Yuni's high school. Wushu tells the story of Li Er - a talented teenage sanda fighter (Chinese kickboxing) who falls in love with a beautiful girl training in wushu (a martial arts form practiced by international action star, Jet Li). In order to woo her, Li Er goes against his coach's desire to make him the provincial sanda champion, and takes up wushu instead. Li Er struggles with losing his sanda champion status to becoming a no body in wushu competition, while at the same time he tries to get his girl to notice him and not getting kicked out of school for his poor marks.

Former cop Shifeng Cao (Chapman To), now unemployed and living off of his savings, learns of 400,000 HK bounty placed on a wanted criminal. He then makes a trip out to the Lazy Inn Hotel in hopes to track the criminal's whereabouts.
