Late one night, in the old town of the seaside town, a bizarre murder occurred, and Guan Jingtang, a well-known local old man, died tragically in his villa. The captain of the criminal police, An Ping (played by Han Dong), was ordered in danger, and Shang Jie (played by Qu Jingjing), a high-achieving student of the provincial department, took the initiative to ask for help, and the two fully cooperated and launched a meticulous investigation. However, as the investigation deepens, various contradictory suspicions emerge one after another, coupled with the huge amount of cash that is missing, the familiar woman in red, the blood-red flower pattern, and the intricate interpersonal relationships of the Guan family, make the case more and more confusing. Shang Jie also walked out of the haze, untied the knot that had plagued her for many years, and was determined to leave behind to inherit her father's legacy and fight side by side with Anping.

The story opens after a young female student kills herself by jumping off a balcony. It's soon discovered that she was in fact stabbed, and the room arranged to make it look like a suicide. And so we begin. A few minor details lead Detective Kanzo (Akashiya Sanma) to suspect that Ryo (Kimura Takuya), an enigmatic chef's assistant, knows more about her death.The two have run into each other by chance a few times, and each time left Kanzo with an uncomfortable feeling.
