Adapted from the novel by Jin Yong, this is a sequel to Legend of Condor Heroes and a prequel of sorts to Heavenly Sword and Dragon Sabre. The story concerns the adventures of Yang Guo, an orphaned boy in a mid-13th Century China. From his humble beginnings, the street wise Yang Guo gets passed around from one prestigious master to another but none of them will teach him any martial arts. While escaping from a tortured experience under Quan Zhen Sect's Zhao Zhi Jing, he meets Xiao Long Nu, the girl who will become his martial arts master and eventually the love of his life.

Tamako, an elite lawyer with a promising future, works for a reputable law firm. She is recently given an opportunity to take a case involving a young child who has been bullied at a local elementary school. Fully aware of the difficulties uncovering the truth in cases involving schools, Tamako is reluctant to proceed with her new client. Tamako is romantically involved with one of her colleagues, Naoyuki, and is hoping to further develop their relationship. However, Tamako's seemingly happy life comes to a sudden halt when she learns the news of an accident involving a young female high school student named Asuka. Park Byung Sam remained her no. 1 suspect even though she was in love with his son, Park Jong Kyu. It turned out that he wasn't the one but who was and why?

Lin Meiya aboard a plane to return home from her studies abroad when she crosses paths with Ou Lin because of a misunderstanding. She had intended to get married upon her return but is unexpectedly met with her boyfriend's cold betrayal. Learning to stand up and walk again from a heartbreak, she finds employment at Ou Lin's company. Through their time together, their relationship surpasses that of simple friends and they learn to lean on each other through difficult times.
