Fumi becomes Genzui Kusaka’s wife. During the turbulent times of the closing days for the Tokugawa shogunate, she lives positively and tries to keep up Shoin Yoshida's will. Shoin Yoshida is her older brother and intellectual.

The setting is in Taiwan's 1950s to 1970s (and according to the screen writer, it would end on year 2000). Its story revolves around a certain village where you can find love and friendship. Each family in the village has a story to tell.

Setoka Tachibana (Tao Tsuchiya) is a female high school student. She has confessed her feelings to other boys 12 times, but has been rebuffed each time. Her older brother Haruka Tachibana (Ryota Katayose) cares for his younger sister deeply, but he holds a secret from Setoka. The secret is that they are not blood related. One day, Setoka's first love Takane Serikawa (Yudai Chiba) appears after many years and approaches her.

Toda and Miura play two teachers, Natsumi Uemura and Shuji Kashiwagi, at the same high school who are set to get married in half a year. However, the night before the school year's opening ceremony, Shuji becomes involved with the young Hikari Saeki (played by Takei), without realizing that she will be a student in his class starting the next day. As Shuji struggles to help Hikari deal with the mental complex she is suffering from, he is also torn inside by his betrayal of Natsumi. The one who finds her and helps her is doctor Benjang, who takes her home. She starts living as his sister.

The tragedy love begins to be more and more complicated when Nira's aunt, who always looks down on Nira's love and is envious of her, discovers the truth and tries to hinder Nira in every way.
