Hiratsuka Heihachi (Katori Shingo), a detective of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division, is an oddball with his rude, petty, makeshift attitude and fuss over little things although he is always smiling and excrutiatingly gentlemanly in speech to everyone. Brazenly stepping into territory that others hate, he exposes their hidden faces and the true nature of human relations to solve cases. On the other hand, rookie detective Saionji Kosuke (Yamashita Tomohisa), the son of a very high profile distinguished family, is highly conscientious, untainted and upright. He is taken on probation by his coveted First Investigative Division, but the work he is given is overseen by Hiratsuka. The First Investigative Division’s Team Hiratsuka is a one-man department with Hiratsuka himself. While Hiratsuka is an unpopular person that no one in the division wishes to work under, he has somehow solved a great number of cases in succession. For that reason, the members of the division speculate that Hiratsuka might have ties with the dark side and Saionji is put under Hiratsuka in order to find evidence of his wrongdoing. Decadence and decay come hand in hand in the stirring new period drama Rouge Snow from top Mainland actress Fan Bingbing (Lost in Beijing). Fan, who actually invested in the production herself, attracted both high viewership ratings and rave reviews with her performance as the drama's tragic heroine. Set in the early Republican era, Rouge Snow co-stars heartthrobs from both sides of the strait, Yu Xiaowei (The Young Warrior) and Wallace Huo (Love at First Fight), as well as veteran actress Leanne Lau Suet Wah and doll-faced Li Qian (Twin of Brothers) in her first antagonist role. After her father's family business goes under, Wen Yuhe (Fan Bingbing) is unwillingly married off into the wealthy Gu family. A 30-year-old single detective (Nagase Tomoya), who is under the illusion that he is popular with females is called 'Unubore' by friends. He is an ultra romantic and susceptible to conceitedness. He has such a strong desire to marry to the extent that he has bought an apartment for his newlywed life. He falls in love with female criminals at first sight each time. While the sheer desire to meet wraps around him, he will get proof that the female is the culprit. And so, he will thrust both the arrest warrant and marriage papers at her, proposing with the words, "If you marry me, I won’t arrest you." If that still does not work, he will hold out an engagement ring and his handcuffs. In the end, the criminal will choose to be arrested and his heart will be broken. He will cry as he puts the handcuffs on her.
