MBC TV's weekend drama, "Song of the Han River" is a story of life and love involving a vibrant middle-aged woman, her two daughters, a niece, a nephew, and a cast of other characters surrounding them. The woman, named Kim Yeong Hui, is a widow who sells fish to support her family. Through their often turbulent lives, we are able to experience the difficulties of a not uncommon family and the persistence of the love its members have for one another. "Song of the Han River" is a warm but enervating story of ordinary people dealing with the normal difficulties of life. To bring about a sort of renaissance in MBC's weekend drama offerings, "Song of the Han River" ambitiously reunited the team of Kim Jeong Su and Choi Jong Su from the popular MBC drama "You and I" for the first time in 6 years. Planning and preparations for this new presentation were undertaken from May 2004, and the target audience ranged from those in their early 30s to those in their 50s.

Takeuchi Miharu (Maya Miki) is a capable lawyer with a law firm in Nagoya who gets to handle a divorce case assigned by their head Mizuno Toyohiko (Tachi Hiroshi). Gohara Naoki (Yoshizawa Hisashi), the president of the company, wants to divorce his wife Nobue (Kone Hana) who left their 5-year-old son behind and moved out. Nobue does not want to give up her child. The case seems to complicate Miharu because she had experienced divorce too and was deprived of custody of her daughter Kanae, who she has not seen in 10 years. She hesitantly starts working on the case but gradually gets absorbed in it.

While she is the husband’s attorney, the solution she offers reflects Nobue’s feelings. This offends the client company and the law firm’s advisory contract is terminated. She resigned.

Nobue arrives with the twin sisters. She believes they can count on Miharu who identified with her own divorce issues. Miharu does all in her power to try to pull the twins’ broken family together. She got convinced to start a divorce counselling centre. On the day of the opening of ‘Takeuchi Harumi Divorce Counselling Centre’, a young lady stares at the signboard of the centre with a surly expression. She is Miharu’s daughter, Kanae (Taketomi Seika), who is now an adult.

The story revolves around a 23-year-old man named, Kazama Masamune. During high school, he had a girlfriend four years older than him, but she suddenly decides to go study abroad. Six years later, he receives news that she has passed away. In addition, she secretly gave birth to Masamune's daughter. Now the five-year-old daughter, Koharu, is left without a mother, and Masamune decides to raise her on his own.

Shakeela works as a maid in an upper-class family of Nadia. Nadia's daughter Hafsa's marriage decides to take place with Samad. In order to made arrangements of the marriage and to serve as helping hands Shakeela stays at Nadia's house along with her daughters; Zeba and younger Farah. Zeba, a college-going and educated girl comes across with there Sahil, Nadia's son suffering from [Down's syndrome]. At night, everyone is busy in the functions of marriage that Zeba receives call from Hashim who is Zeba's fiancé. He demands to see her and calls him in an under-constructed building. Zeba first denies but later agrees to meet him due to his insistence. Zeba goes there and someone rapes her. She comes back where everyone is already looking for him. She enters with Samad from the main gate and everyone there mistakes Samad as a culprit. Zeba is taken to hospital where doctor changes the reports as Siraj had already called him and ordered him to decalare her as a patient of Hysteria. Doctor does so and disappointed Zeba goes to her home with her mother.

The sequel of It Started With A Kiss begins with Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu's wedding and honeymoon. Even after marriage, they experience problems and interferences within their marriage such as mistaken pregnancy, misunderstandings, and new found jealousies. Xiang Qin and Zhi Shu switch to medical school to become nurse and doctor. During that time, Zhi Shu meets new rivals who wish to outdo him and Xiang Qin makes four new friends, and one of them likes her and wishes to replace Zhi Shu. How will their lives turn out to be?

The current emperor at the time neglects his duties and spends time playing and frolicking with the ladies. He also has a habit of hunting foxes late at night. With their declining population and innocent deaths rising, the enraged Fox Clan wages a war against the royal family. They reserve a special pearl that boosts power and beauty to the consumer, which is stolen by the pair of sisters and split between them. They enter the Palace as dancers to fulfill the mission of killing the Emperor. But before the sisters could kill the emperor, he’s abruptly assassinated, and the throne goes to Vic Zhou’s character. ~~ Drama adaptation of the novel 胭脂醉 written by Shui He.
