Genghis Kahn built an empire that spanned vast regions in East Asia and East Europe. And there was one woman who held immense power in the Yuan Dynasty, which Genghis Khan founded, for 37 years. She was neither of Mongol descent nor from the Han Chinese. She came from Goryeo, a small kingdom in the Far East. She was taken to Mongol against her will as a Gungnyeo (palace women) but somehow overcame her lowly status to become an empress in another land. Her name was Empress Ki.

The story is set in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture in the era around the Second World War. When the story opens in 1928, the heroine, Sakurako, is a very active seven-year-old girl who is interested in becoming a jazz pianist, and music features extensively in the plot.

Kurosawa, who works for a film production company, meets Akiko, a divorcee and single mother, who works at a publishing house. Through the efforts of Akiko's son, Naoya, they fall in love and decide to get married. The good news continues with Kurosawa becoming an assistant producer, and Akiko's parents offering to make the down-payment for their apartment. However, things start to go wrong when the ever-generous and sometimes naive Kurosawa helps a respected friend by co-signing on his financial obligation. A warm and occasionally wacky comedy for the whole family.

The man has a knife stab wound. The man is taken to the hospital and he introduces himself as Shinomiya Yuki to a detective there. He also points to Shinomiya Yuki and tells the detective that he stabbed him. Shinomiya Yuki runs away from the hospital and becomes a fugitive. At that time, a mysterious woman named Zoka appears in front of Shinomiya Yuki and asks him to help her take revenge on the person responsible for her father's death. Zoka is a Hiru, who stay at an empty house. Shinomiya Yuki stays with Zoka and they meet Kara, who is a legendary Hiru. Kara lives for his revenge.

At both ends of the Milky Way are two rulers obsessed with the life and death of all things. One day, the two rulers started a gamble using one's feelings as a medium and one's life as the wager. Using the Beidou Black Pearl to descend to the world of mortals, they experienced three generations of love tribulations.

Her special ability also couldn't be used as legal evidence. She leads a lonely life due to her special ability. Jozuka Hisui meets mystery writer Kozuki Shiro, who helps the police to solve cases. Jozuka Hisui and Kozuki Shiro work together to solve cases.
