After the huge success of Reincarnated, the station followed up in 1979 with another popular period piece Dragon Strikes, again written by novelist Huang Yi and screenwriter Kong Lung. Set in the Ming Dynasty, Dragon Strikes follows swordsman Xiao Yiu Hau and the dangerous power struggle and tangle of corruption and conspiracies he encounters in the royal court and the martial arts world. The power struggle is evident both in the palace as well as in the martial arts world. This series focused on that of the 3 big clans with the Siu Yiu clan, Pai Ling clan, and the South Gate clan. Nearly twenty years ago, Park Joon Pil is the son of a mafia boss. The mafia boss is being chased by the police but takes a day off to take his young son to the department store. The series portrayed the adventures of a roving samurai detective/spy, Akikusa Shintarō (Koichi Ose), whose real identity is Matsudaira Nobuchiyo - the older half-brother of Tokugawa Ienari, the 11th Tokugawa shogun, who is still a minor. Being the son of a concubine, Nobuchiyo has no claim to power, so he assumes the guise of a wandering swordsman named Shintarō to seek out and eliminate plots by rival feudal lords and thus protect his younger brother.

Paeksang Arts Awards, also known as Baeksang Arts Awards, is an awards ceremony held annually by IS PLUS Corp., publisher of Ilgan Sports, since 1965. It is to honour outstanding achievements in the South Korean entertainment industry and to garner public attention upon the best in Korean films, television, and theater. It was established by Chang Key-young, founder of the Hankook Ilbo newspaper, whose pen name was "Baeksang." The ceremony is usually presented in April or May in Seoul. The 51st Paeksang Arts Awards ceremony was held at Kyung Hee University's Peace Palace Hall in Seoul on May 26, 2015, and aired on jTBC. It was hosted by Shin Dong-yup, Kim Ah-joong and Joo Won.
