Saitip, a psychologist providing counseling for kids and families, comes back home with a degree in Psychology and willingness to work. Korn, son of a school owner, is to inherit the school business from his mom. He has to do everything to make his mom and the teachers accept him. He initiates a project 'Sweet Broken Home' to help five trouble making kids who are about to get dismissed from the school. They all similarly come from broken homes. Korn must succeed in his project, or else the five kids would be dismissed. Saitip is hired as a new counseling teacher to help him solve this problem together.

Hikari (Kyoko Fukada) has to take care of her sick mother and two younger brothers. They are informed that their missing father has died, and later find out he left them a huge 10 million yen debt. They are a very poor family. They have no money or food. To pay off the debt, Hikari lands a cleaning job at the UBS TV company. On the other side, there's Masako Nagai (Matsushita Yuki), a struggling UBS TV drama producer. The men she works with are somewhat sexist. Through an incident within UBS, Masako discovers Hikari's talents as a creative person with a great imagination for drama writing. With no allies within UBS, she decides to hire Hikari, training her to be an assistant producer. Hikari's happiness is keeping her family fed and paying off her father's debt. Masako's happiness is to gain respect within UBS by excelling as a drama producer.

The drama follows the lives of a large, rich, and influential Chinese family living in British Hong Kong during the 1920′s and 30′s, a time when eastern and western cultures clashed, and women began to fight for a position in society to change the traditions of a woman always coming second behind a man. Although wealthy and renowned barrister, Chung Cheuk Man (Damian Lau) studied abroad in England and enjoyed a western lifestyle, deep down he is still a traditional Chinese man. Similar to many upper class during that era, Cheuk Man has many wives and mistresses, a symbol of his status. His first wife Koo Sum Lan (Mary Hon) was born from a wealthy family. Unknown to the people of Earth, there is a branch of humanity called the "Gosei Angels" whose mission is to protect the Earth. When the Earth is targeted by an evil alien invasion force called Warstar, they destroy the Heaven's Tower, the bridge between the Earth and the Gosei World, home of the Gosei Angels, to keep them from interfering. However, five apprentices Gosei Angels are on Earth at the time and, while finding a way to return back home, they become the Goseigers to stop Warstar. But soon after, the monstrous Yuumajuu emerge from their slumber, and the Goseigers receive aid from a special being called Gosei Knight who once fought against the Yuumajuu in the past. But even after they defeat the Yuumajuu, the evil robotic Matrintis Empire rises to take over the Earth with the data acquired from the last two groups. Once they are defeated, the Goseigers face their greatest enemy in the one who has been manipulating the other groups from the very beginning: a rogue Gosei Angel who took their mission to protect the Earth to a dangerous extreme by planning to destroy all life and recreate the world in his image.
