In 1867, Shin Jae Hyo leads the Dongrijungsa which teaches pansori (traditional Korean musical storytelling). A young girl, Chae Sun, who wants to perform pansori, appears in front of him. Chae Sun has dreamed of performing pansori since she first heard Shin Jae Hyo perform when she was little, but Shin Jae Hyo turns her down because women are not allowed to perform pansori. Chae Sun then disguises herself as a man and enters the Dongrijungsa to learn pansori, but Shin Jae Hyo doesn’t accept her as his student. One day, he hears Daewongun, the most powerful man in Joseon and the father of the King, is going to hold a national competition of pansori performers known as “Naksungyeon.” Shin Jae Hyo decides to teach Chae Sun who has a true voice to perform “Chunhyangga.” If anyone finds out that Chae Sun is a woman, Shin Jae Hyo and Chae Sun will both face death.

She has a specific objective to fulfil at the Iwakura household. Nobuko had gone to see the ‘Golden Star’, which was displayed in a department store, and encountered an enigmatic man (Yokota Eiji) who suddenly appeared in front of her. The man seemed to have a connection to the ‘Golden Pearl’ and the Iwakura family. He had encouraged her to try wearing the pearl like the ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ painted by Vemeer. As customers and news reporters swarmed around them, Nobuko had fled the place without thinking. But in doing so, the precious pearl earring was lost. According to store personnel, that man had taken it out. Nobuko’s intuition tells her that the man is involved in the theft of the ‘Golden Star’ and she guesses he will show up at the Iwakura home some day. There is a portrait in the Iwakura home of a man who resembles him as if in confirmation of her conjecture. What is this man’s true identity? After that, the more the battle between the chairman and company president heats up, the more the share price of Teikoku Shinju continues to mysteriously rise. Why did the pearl disappear? A handsome and attractive young man manages to kick start an unprecedented boom in ballroom dancing in the country. No one knows his exact identity, but we at least understand one thing: that his dance is a type of art in itself. A self-asserted true artist Park Pungsik (played by Lee Seongjae) appears as a lady-killer and teacher of ballroom dance. Formerly an ordinary sales person, Pungsik one day happens to meet his high school classmate Mansu (Kim Suro) who has trained in ballroom dance. From that time on, Pungsik is deeply absorbed in the art of dance and decides to go on a long journey across the nation to find real dance masters. Finally, Pungsik meets a female detective Song Yeonhwa (played by Park Solmi). Though she is dispatched to arrest him, she later ends up helping him. Actor Lee Seongjae utterly transforms himself from a cold-blooded murderer in "Public Enemy" into a mellifluous, charming guy in this movie. The screenplay is based on the short story "A Writer," written by Seong Seokje.
