The bride Yuan Ru Yi's entire family was killed while she was in the bridal chamber, but she was rescued by a masked man. A year later, Ru Yi learned from the information trader Bao Da Ting that his father had killed a thief in order to save the people. Osugi Ryota (Kagawa Teruyuki), a former detective of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department’s First Investigative Division, resigned from the police because of some incident and now runs a private investigation agency. One day, a beautiful weather girl Koike Risa (Hayami Akari) visits Osugi with a request. She wants him to search for her younger twin sister Rina (Hayami Akari) who was supposed to have died 18 years ago. In the footage of a video that was anonymously put into Risa’s mailbox, Rina is seen to suddenly transform like a beast and attack a counselor in the room of a facility. Risa is convinced that her younger sister is still alive somewhere. And that she is also the criminal who killed her parents one year earlier … … After Risa’s parents were murdered by someone at the research lab of an abandoned university hospital, their hearts were gouged out. Osugi gets his partner, senior patrol officer Narumiya Keisuke (Ito Atsushi), involved. Narumiya starts examining whether anyone is living in Risa’s family home now as well as the scene where her parents were killed. The “ghost of the heart professor” is rumoured to appear at research lab. Narumiya finds something inside the dark, dilapidated place. The story of three childhood friends Ben, Paul and Frank who cruise the streets of Hong Kong circa 1967 and are members of a gang. Defiant and proud, they're also fiercely loyal to their families and each other, and will engage in street fist fights and other assorted lengths to prove it. When Ben decides to marry girlfriend Jane, Frank and Paul secure a loan to pay for the wedding banquet, but Frank is attacked by the local gang. Bloodied, he still arrives at the banquet with the money, but Ben isn't satisfied with letting things go. He goes after the responsible parties, and accidentally leaves one dead.

With the law after him, Ben is forced to flee to Saigon with his two friends. The three are supposed to deliver some illegal goods to a Mr. Leong, but things quickly go awry. The goods are lost in a terrorist bombing, and protesters and North Vietnamese sympathizers are shot without pity. Luckily, they have a contact: Eurasian mercenary Luke who helps the boys square things with Mr. Leong, but they're not satisfied with just completing their deal. Conflicts concerning money, love and friendship reveal the true personalities of the three.

Follows an aspiring manga artist named Keigo Yamashiro who dreams of making it big. Yamashiro is extremely talented, but what holds him back is his inability to create any villains due to his overtly cheerful personality. Due to this he is currently stuck in the position of being an assistant to a manga writer.

One day Yamashiro receives an assignment from his boss to visit a home and sketch the family living there. When Yamashiro arrives at the house he finds all four family members dead, and a mysterious man. Startled by the incident, the unknown man makes his escape and Yamashiro calls the cops.

When questioned by police Yamashiro lies and says that he did not see the murderer, he does however use the murderer as a villain for his own manga titled “34”. The manga series becomes a surprise hit and Yamashiro quickly becomes a top star in the manga world. However, murders extremely similar to incidents in the “34” manga begin to happen in real life, and Yamashiro is soon confronted by the mysterious murderer.
