The story of four generations of women from four different time periods. From the Late Qing era to the May Fourth Period, the Sixties to the modern times. Each period shows the rapidly changing status of women in China in the last 100 years.

A story of Daonin, a poor country girl who was tricked to work as a prostitute in Bangkok. Just as Daonin's life could not get any worse, she was picked up by a talent spotter who groomed her into a highly sought after superstar. Seduced by her new-found fame and fortune, Daonin refuses to acknowledge her poor family and past livelihood for fear of losing her status. Lies started to pile up, leading her into a corner where she has no choice but to face the consequences of her actions.

The story follows a college student who discovers that he can see and communicate with the germs all around him — germs that appear as super-deformed characters.

Misaki is a 30-year old unlucky in love editor. She tends to fall in love hard and smothers her boyfriends to death. With no major accomplishments under her belt, she is told to look after Koh Nagase, a bestselling novelist in a slump. For the past 2 years, Koh hasn't put out so much as a page. He is a proud, reclusive man who has gone through many editors. They don't get along at first, and Koh fires her. However, Misaki keeps coming back to the Sunset Apartments partly to help Koh write and partly because she grows close to the colorful characters in the complex. Characters like budding illustrator, Nabetomo, and Nabetomo's "stalker" Kano. Slowly, Misaki draws Koh out of his shell while falling for him herself.

Dr. Kaede Kojima (Matsushima Nanako) is now the staff leader at Minato University Hospital's Emergency and Critical Care Center. It's been a month since she took that position. She's calm and precise in her role as staff leader, but she doesn't let others get close to her. The relationship between staff members is awkward because of this. Others can't figure out why Hospital Director Tooru Mogami (Danta Yasunori) put Kaede Kojima in her position. One day, a patient's family asks the hospital to stop a donor transplant. Hospital Director Tooru Mogami calls Dr. Kaede Kojima in for a meeting. When Kaede Kojima gets there, Tooru Mogami and Yasuhiro Sugiyoshi (Tezuka Toru) wait for her. Yasuhiro Sugiyoshi complains about the cancellation of the donor transplant and blames staff members for not persuading the patients' family enough. Tooru Mogami then reveals that he invited donor transplant specialist Dr. Mamoru Natsume (Tokito Saburo). Around this time, tragedy strikes with multiple stabbings and an explosion. The Emergency and Criticial Care Center is inundated with injured victims. Chaos ensues as the staff fails to work together and the doctors do not cooperate or communicate with each other.

It revolves around the relationship between a newbie and her highly temperamental boss that is a source of many misunderstandings and an eventual romance.
