Due to an event, Kurome Sui has been living as a hikikomori for the past 10 years since the age of 18. However, her life begins to change after she receives an invitation to a high school reunion and meeting popular novelist, Kumon Ryuen.

Beautiful Connection begins with the lives of three daughters from a single-parent family, headed by a domineering and unreasonable mother, Fatty Zhen. The three daughters have characters that are very different as a result of their mother's upbringing.

Spoilt by Fatty Zhen, the youngest daughter, Ke Ke, is well-educated but arrogant. On the other hand, Ke Lian and Ke Li's happiness have been short-changed to create more opportunities for their youngest sister.

Despite this, both Ke Lian and Ke Li are able to adapt better to society, unlike Fatty Zhen and Ke Ke, whose attitude puts people off. Ke Lian eventually finds true love with Lion King, while Ke Li finds happiness in her own family and career. The story follows the lives of 3 boys from Taiwan Hsinchu Senior High School under the Japanese Rule. Lin Qing Wen, Zhou Shao Zhen and Zhuang Shi Geng are childhood friends that grew up together and suffered under the Japanese colonial movement. The turbulence in lives and the brutality they faced under the Japanese rule awakens their nationalist feelings, which led them to different paths.

In the deep of the night, Indonesian migrant fisherman Abdul-Adl brutally murders the captain and his family. The appointed indigenous public defender Bao Ju treats the case with contempt. His team also includes Jin Ping, who has a bright future but also a manipulative father, and Leena, an Indonesian nurse who is harassed by her employer. They team up, translating for and defending the murderer. Bao Ju’s team finds evidence that implicates Zhen Xiong, the owner of a fishery group. Witness collusion, a biased judge and disagreements on mental evaluation worsen the situation. Bao Ju goes to his ex-lover Qing Xue, the Minister of Justice, for help. Jin Ping and Leena become intimate. Bao Ju’s team finds the key witness, Suprianto, but he disappears after receiving death threats. Overwhelmed by setbacks, Bao Ju loses the case. To overturn the decision, Bao Ju has to regroup, but more obstacles appear. Bao Ju discovers evidence that can halt the death penalty, but Qing Xue approves the execution. With limited time, Bao Ju must come up with a perfect solution to save his client.
