The story centers around four girls, who were all born in 1965 and lived on the same corner street, on how they adapt to the culture changes brought on by Taiwan's economic boom of the 1980's.

Dao, a girl from the countryside, dreams of becoming a singer while Klui, her lover, dreams of becoming a composer for Dao. Team, the son of a big records company, offers Dao and Klui a chance to chase their dreams. However, Dao has to encounter many obstacles – her father’s death, her stepmother and stepbrother’s exploitation, the attack from Heng, the local mafia, the envy of Yeewa and Rungtiwa, the other singers from the same label, as well as Lucy, who wants Dao to be the artist under her label. Meanwhile, Klui also faces a hard time since he is attacked by Heng until he loses his ability to speak. The situation worsens when he misunderstands that Dao fell in love with Team. Being disabled, Klui loses his confidence and decides to stay away from Dao, though he does not give up his dream of composing a song for her. Nevertheless, Klui does not know that Dao’s dream will never be completed without her lover’s presence. Will the couple surpass all the obstacles and reunite again?

In order to support her family, Jiang Guifang led her children to use their craft to open a dumpling house. From 1984 to 2018, after more than thirty years of hardship, Jiang has always shown strength and resilience in the face of various life's twists and turns and tribulations. During this time, the dumpling house has experienced difficult beginning, relocations, rivalries, the temptation of capital, as well as the illness of her eldest daughter, the divorce of her second daughter, the marriage of herthird son, the departure of her fourth daughter, the adoption of her fifth son and other family changes, Lao Jiang relies on her unbridled character and superior wisdom to lead her children through one obstacle after another.

Honjo Hidehisa (Nakai Kiichi), a successful lawyer in his 50s, is found to have an early onset of Alzheimer’s. He forgets memories which he ought to remember and constantly recalls those that he wants to forget. One incident he wishes to forget is the death of his son in a car accident. The culprit still has not been caught. Honjo has not faced up to the past until now. He has only thought of work and neglected his new family. But as he gradually begins to lose his memories, he devotes his remaining life to exposing his past and taking on his final case.
