One day, Adachi-san is approached by the editor-in-chief of a female magazine with a proposal to run a series about throwing away a personal belonging in each issue, based on the theme of parting with possessions and living more comfortably. That night, Adachi-san falls asleep like always. But a mysterious girl and the personification of the items that she has held onto appear one after another in her dream, asking to be thrown away.

A man finds a ghost trapped in an umbrella

National Theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006. In January 2007, the theatre begins its 51st year with “Asakusa Fukumaru Inn,” a new drama where every episode is self-inclusive, set in an old-line inn in Asakusa. Fukumaru Daikichi, the owner of Fukumaru Inn is played by Nishida Toshiyuki. The inn has been in business for over 60 years, and Daikichi is its third owner. Known as “nosy Dai-san” from people of Asakusa, Daikichi pries into the affairs of others and ends up making matters worse. As social conditions change, his inn business faces difficult situation, but he cannot help but stop being nosy. In each episode, various guest actors/actresses appear to take the key role sometimes as a guest to the inn or as a someone Daikichi meets in the neighborhood area. Exchanges between guest actors/actresses and Dakichi will definitely make the viewers cry and laugh in all episodes.

After being humiliated for being a mistress by her ex-boyfriend’s wife, Lada contemplates suicide at the edge of a bridge. Before she can make up her mind, Nu accidentally bumps into her, causing her to fall off the bridge before she can make her decision. To make the travel arrangements easier, Nu talks Lada into being his legal wife on paper. Before heading to Paris, Nu finally reveals to Lada his wealthy background while introducing her as his wife to his employees, including his lawyer and the lawyer’s family. Devastated that Nu is now married, the lawyer’s daughter, who is also in love with Nu, recruits the help of Nu’s ex-girlfriend and the wife of Lada’s ex-boyfriend to help break them up.
