After accidentally causing the death of his partner during a hostage situation, Wu Young-min quits the police force to work for his uncle as head security of Dreampia, an immense shopping center. Dreampia is currently in the rebuilding stages as a fire destroyed parts of it five years ago. The re-opening was scheduled in a few days, until some strange murders begin to occur in the building. It seems that the victims, all employees of the mall, have committed suicide in very gruesome and unconventional ways. Young-min is very suspicious about the police explanation, and starts his own investigation, but unfortunately for him, an old acquaintance, Ha Hyun-su, is in charge of the police investigation. Hyun-su still blames Young-min for the death of their friend and is not interested in cooperation. The more clues they stumble on, the more strange and unnatural the truth becomes.

Japan is now brimming with American soldiers and Yakuza, and Bae Dal and Chun Bae manage to get on the wrong side of a local Yakuza. Despite his best efforts to fight back, Bae Dal is beaten again and humiliated, and it is at this moment he is reuinted with his family's old friend and his own fighter-idol, Beom Su. As a guard for a circus troupe, Beom Su knows the Yakuza all too well, and fights them off, keeping Bae Dal and Chun Bae under his care. Pleaing for help, Bae Dal begins his karate training once more under the tutledge of Beom Su. He pratices the moves and ideology he learns by seeking to mete out justice to those wrong-doers in the streets. Thus he saves pretty geisha Youko from being raped by Americans, and a romance blossoms. But when his sensei is killed by the Yakuza and Bae Dal takes his revenge upon the criminals, Bae Dal is not only ashamed of his hasty, bloody and vain actions, but tenfold determinded to hone his craft. So he escapes to the solitary mountains for gruesome physical training, in the likeness of legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. Prefecting his martial arts and his body, Bae Dal then returns to civilization and immediately scours the country looking for a fight, trying to find anyone skilled enough to match him. Soon every dojo and Black Belt is defeated by his powerhouse karate, and even The New York Times is quoted as calling him "The Toughest Man Alive". News of this soon reaches Kato, his old advesary who is now the head of the Martial Arts Union and insulted by his popularity. The Japanese are, of course, unwilling to admit defeat to a Korean, and claim his martial arts is just thug-fighting. Amane is driving home when he accidentally runs over a woman. He visits her in hospital but she doesn't accept any offers of compensation, and disappears. He becomes obsessed with her, and he eventually finds her: her name is Hanabusa and she is a hostess in a club, but there is a twist: it's a transvestite night club. And, yes, she is really a man underneath her very elegant and beautiful feminine appearance Amane recoils, but is clearly inclined to go along with it, which he does. Nothing much happens that night, but Amane is still obsessed and visits her in the club again, and eventually they make love at home. To comply with Japanese moral requirements, a table-lamp is conveniently positioned between the camera and their lower bodies while this is in progress. Amane is a little naive in matters of love-making, and Hanabusa shows him some new techniques, both as the passive and the active partner; for Amane it's perfect love-making. Amane is now hooked, and drops Juri. Juri is unhappy with this, and they argue, and then Juri finds where Hanabusa lives and confronts her at her home. Hanabusa deflects Juri's anger and they make love, with Hanabusa taking the male part. Juri enjoys it, and for a moment we wonder if this pairing might be permanent, but she leaves and gets even more angry at Amane for leaving her.She consults a man who works with Amane, and seeking consolation, they have sex. Now Juri's period is late; she goes to Amane's flat to confront him, and to pressure him into marrying her. But Hanabusa is there, and the confrontation degenerates, and Juri leaves, in tears. She has already threatened suicide if Amane doesn't go back to her; will she do something desperate?
