Wushu tells the story of Li Er - a talented teenage sanda fighter (Chinese kickboxing) who falls in love with a beautiful girl training in wushu (a martial arts form practiced by international action star, Jet Li). In order to woo her, Li Er goes against his coach's desire to make him the provincial sanda champion, and takes up wushu instead. Li Er struggles with losing his sanda champion status to becoming a no body in wushu competition, while at the same time he tries to get his girl to notice him and not getting kicked out of school for his poor marks.

Inspired by her childhood, French-Korean filmmaker Ounie Lecomte recounts the emotional journey of a little girl abandoned by her father in an orphanage. 1975. It’s early autumn, somewhere in a small town in South Korea. Jin Hee is 9. She sets off on a journey. She doesn’t know where she is going. But she has to follow. She has to obey. Somewhere near Seoul, her father entrusts her to an orphanage for girls run by Catholic nuns in the hope that she will be adopted. Jin Hee resists. She cannot believe that this father whom she loves so much has abandoned her. She tries to make him come back. She attempts to run away. Naoto Aoyagi runs a supermarket. One day, he sees a middle school student stealing cosmetics at his store. The middle school student runs from the supermarket, but she gets hits by a car and truck. She dies from the accident. The girl's father, Mitsuru Soeda, does not believe the accusation that his daughter was stealing from the store. He begins to place people involved in his daughter's death, including Naoto Aoyagi and the car driver, into a corner.
